    Pros

Atmosphere is very open and free-going. Management although maintains high metrics allows you to manage your growth of business on your own terms.

    Cons

Recent partner changes weaken the foundation of the Account Executive Position. Focus really needs to be on the partner support that we rely on to garnish relationships with clients.

    Advice to Management

Focus on support that can strengthen the Account Executives

    Pros

Vendors would come and bring food and gifts, dress code was pretty relaxed for business casual

    Cons

Only got one day of training (which was fine since I catch on quick), did not give me much to do but then would complain that they were understaffed when they could have just trained me. Pay was not worth the trip. Management would complain about high turnover, and I can see why they can't get people to stay working here.

    Advice to Management

If you see an employee can handle more than what you give them show them the ropes, otherwise they will get bored and find a better opportunity.

    Pros

Like others before have stated, great place to learn the ropes and begin a technical knowledge base to start a career however, I would advise against any long term career at Insight as there are better opportunities elsewhere. PTO that accrues after tenure is adequate. Coworkers are generally pleasant to be around.

    Cons

Employees pay for their own medical, high deductible plan ($3000 out of pocket until insurance pays coverage) and is extra cost to the teammate.

Starting pay rate and seasoned rate does not come remotely close to industry standards for RNOC management.

For a Fortune 500 company, supplies are scarce and not readily available.

Due to lack of competitive pay and promotion, talent retention is almost obsolete.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more and start looking at graphs and market trends less. Offer more opportunity for advancement and provide incentives that will offset the stress of working under high level contracts for enterprise sized clients.

    Pros

I was in the NOC. Good starting place to launch a career in networking or server administration. They pay for certifications that you pass.

    Cons

Pay is very low. PTO is hard to get approved. Poor collaboration between groups. Basically zero room for growth/promotion. They would bring in less experienced people to higher for positions on the engineering team because they could pay them less than more seasoned techs with experience. Managed services is having major changes, several layoffs and management shakeups.

    Advice to Management

When you say you promote from within stop hiring external people.

    Pros

The job has a lot of opportunity to learn when you first get into a position and they are willing to train well to get you up to speed. The company does offer basic insurance plans and a 401k. The opportunity for growth is good for starting positions. It is a growing company.

    Cons

The environment can be very political at times with people focusing more on looking good than doing their jobs well. More managers than leaders in the company. In some positions it can feel like you are being micromanaged. The pay tends to be lower than industry average in certain positions.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on getting results than trying to look good. Be a leader and your team will want to work for you as opposed to a manager who just comes in to do a job.

    Pros

Central location in Dallas is close to major highways, some work from home flexibility, nice PTO structure, some nice coworkers, community involvement.

    Cons

Lot of turnover, poor training, systems and back office issues, lack of career path, constantly changing and complicated bonus structure.

    Advice to Management

Too many silos and systems issues. Need career path to retain and award hard working, experienced employees.

    Pros

Industry leader and expanding offerings and services capabilities provide Insight with great potential. Benefits are decent for a large corporation. They have recently added some more innovative benefits like an on-site health clinic and on-site health screenings to improve health consciousness among the teammates. They have a nice holiday party and some fun perks from the partners in the call center. Good management training programs for front line managers are provided, if you can find the time to attend. Onsite cafeteria at the Harl location, although it's overpriced and food isn't healthy or good. Free vendor food is common and better than the cafeteria food!

    Cons

Constant change is strategy and senior leadership is often times short sighted, but in the name of growth. Constant change is particularly frustrating to the sales organization who's expectations, accounts, managers, etc are frequently changing. There is a tremendous lack of sales accountability and rigor. Sales training is poor and sales management, with some exceptions, is poor. The culture is deteriorating and morale is currently very low. Systems are very outdated, but there is a lot of work being done to improve in this area. Pay overall is below market average. Insight is trying to evolve into a modern day company, but still has a lot of school mentality which makes the shift difficult. Lots of silos and favoritism still exists. There is no empowerment and you need to go through a million approvals for the most basic and common sense things. Lots and lots of meetings. Very little respect for work/life balance or time off. You are expected to ALWAYS be accessible.

    Advice to Management

Stop implementing so many major changes without thinking them thoroughly and getting reality checks from those on the front lines. Change is good, but constant and ongoing changes can be incredibly distracting. Create more accountability in the sales organization. Empower your managers and leaders. Being fiscally responsible is good, but you have over-pivoted at the expense of your teammates and the culture.

    Pros

CEO has the long term vision to lead this company. Sales people are empowered to grow business the way they see fit. Insight is willing to try new things, attack new verticals, etc. A really good place to work.

    Cons

Leadership can roll out new ideas without thinking them through. Many times initiatives fizzle. Lately decisions are guided by pipeline and forecast which results in an overall short-sidedness.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the spreadsheets and focus on the "sales" part of sales management.
