Lots of potential, however no Sales accoutability, paying half the industry commission rate will keep them mediocre!

    Solutions Sales Executive (Former Employee)

    ProsLots of things to sell!

ConsPoor work life balance, too many management changes, middle management is afraid to speak up and manage in fear of losing thier jobs. Poor at dividing territories to gain better market penetration, management will keep accounts vs doing what is best for the company. Many salary plan changes over the past 3 years which has been a continual downgrade.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet smart hold the AE's and Middle managment accountable for growing sales portfolio's, Many reps have accounts they do not work or call on, ie just passing electronic orders. Take away the bottom accounts from every rep, hire new reps on the commision that is already being paid out and penetrate the market.

ConsNo career developement, constant restructuring and reorganization

Advice to Senior ManagementImplement some sort of career development program, change is good, but too much of a good thing can be bad.

It been a good experience at insight

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThey have good scheduling and work with you when you have family emergency. Everyone olis very helpful when you need help and they participate in volunteer work.

ConsOffice politics, no raises for a few years and when they did give a raise it was well below the average of other companies.

Advice to Senior ManagementResearch into merits and pay for employees.

    Survival of the FIttest

Inside Sales (Current Employee) Tempe, AZ

ProsGood Entry Level with opportunity to make good money if you find the golden ticket

ConsSales process is still in building phase which can sometimes make it difficult to endure through the process.

Advice to Senior ManagementBuild value in the employees that don't want to remain complacent instead of firing and hiring at more cost someone new to train and go through the full process all over again. Build a culture of employees that don't fear being replaced by the next new thing.

Good company (for Phoenix) as it is one of only a handful of Fortune 500 in Phoenix

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Tempe, AZ

ProsAbove average pay, nice friendly work environment, benefits are improving (slowly), leadership is trying to get it right, emerging cloud environment may pay dividends, management is focused on improvement

ConsWeak 401(k) match - only 25% match up to 6% of pay, 2-3% merit increases isn't going to cut it, need to scale merit increases on a value based system, inconsistent work from home policies from dept. to dept., C-level executives are paid too much (like many places) and not held accountable

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to focus on simplifying processes, employee retention,

    No career growth opportunity.

    Marketing (Current Employee) Tempe, AZ

ProsWarm culture, always something fun going on. Bring Your Dog to Work Day, on-site health clinic, covered parking, onsite cafe, lots of free food and giveaways.

ConsSalaries are below average, there is no career path and hardly ever any promotions within ones job. Management seems supportive but never goes to bat for you. Unless you are in sales, no one really cares about you. Losing the Insight Bowl also stinks.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvde career paths for employees OTHER than in sales. Actions speak louder than words - quit telling employees about all the great opps at Insight - show them instead. Put more money into marketing, add headcount, create advertising campaigns. Compared to CDW we are booooring.

    Great sales school

Adobe Sales Specialist (Former Employee) Montreal, QC (Canada)

ProsGood training program, company appreciates hard workers and individuals with high potential. Corporate culture is great.

ConsCompensation is quite low, company likes to hire junior sales people instead of experienced sales executives as they do not want to pay high base salaries. Excessive micro-management on the sales floor.

Good people to work with but value message to customers lacking

Account Executive (Former Employee) Austin, TX

ProsFull spectrum of solutions available for clients with strong service & delivery teams.

ConsGuardrail to guardrail management tendencies with sales being pulled into many different directions, management disconnected with regional teams at times, comp plan/benefits are constantly changing.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in your people
