    Pros

They are one of the major employers of Tempe, AZ.

    Cons

It's a low margin business and therefore difficult to invest into key initiatives that will drive the company forward. Couple this with pressures from wall street to continually grow the top and bottom lines. As a result, when revenues are lacking, the only way to respond is to cut costs and people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't make decisions based on personal agendas. Quit playing in your turf wars and just execute on the strategy!

    Pros

Predictable and uncomplicated job. Company pays and rewards (financially) for success. Some reasonable company benefits. Low intellect required for competence

    Cons

Very political. Its like working for a medieval court. Only the "liked" progress irrespective of achievements and performance.

    Pros

The company has undergone an transformation as the IT Channel evolves and so far has managed to stay on the wave and not sunk. The geographical spread offers a lot of prospects to relocate and they also like to promote from within which is good for careers prospects.

    Cons

Some middle managers can make the work life very difficult. The company is trying to become a solutions provider but is stuck in the box shifter mentality and this leads to internal conflict between hitting targets by just smashing out KPI's and actually doing what clients value/need/want and what actually makes profit and long term returns. Also, very process based methods for internal communications and work and can lead to long SLA's and bad internal client satisfaction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce red tape, create smaller more dynamic 'sales' teams to be more agile and customer focused.

    Pros

Good training program, company appreciates hard workers and individuals with high potential. Corporate culture is great.

    Cons

Compensation is quite low, company likes to hire junior sales people instead of experienced sales executives as they do not want to pay high base salaries. Excessive micro-management on the sales floor.

I have been working at Insight full-time

    Pros

strong position in industry, active in hiring, developing a strong cloud presence. OVerall package is good and opportunities exist for advancement if you look for them.

    Cons

Tends to underinvest and give competitors a lead, can be shortsighted in their goals and reactionary to main partners and their needs. Still struggling for idsentity in marketplace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more administrative assistance for sales, turn sales management into experts to be on calls with sales employees. Inside sales should be a lead generation engine

I worked at Insight for more than a year

    Pros

    Early adopters of technology
Always looking for options to push new products and new technology to clients
Pay package, while not the best, isn't too bad
    Value awards
    Presidents dinners
    Good engagement with technology partners
Good support for family, though not necessarily work life

    Cons

Career Management is almost zilch from a management point of view, unless you want to take the bull by the horns so to speak
Very very sales driven, even non-sales departments
Very rigid in terms of policies
Very difficult to get through to upper management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although there is an open door policy in principle with top management, it is very selective, and only people who know them personally can get access.
Top Management doesnt realise that down at the lower echelons often are the back bone of the company
