Great place if you want to make an impact

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Hartford, CT

Pros-- Ability to really impact the business
-- Perfect sized organzation. Big enough to be a 'real company'. Small enough to matter
-- Growing business with great opportunities to learn new things and grow
-- Company doesn't get bogged down in bureaucracy
-- Challenges employees to continue to improve
-- Those that contribute to success have ability to make significant bonuses

Cons-- Not the right organization for everyone. Not a 9-5 organization
-- Workload fluctuations can be a challenge. This is to be expected with a vendor

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees. Keep pushing the culture of the company. It takes time but is the right thing to do.

ProsGreat CEO! Jeffrey Glazer is one of the most creative, credible and balanced leaders I've ever worked with over my career. His willingness to lead with complete transparency is admirable. Organizationally I'm somewhat surprised anyone would complain about compensation. I've seen the scales and Insurity is competitive and above average in almost every field and function. Learning from previous mistakes was a key turning point at Insurity and the fact that customers, analysts and employees are still divided on this point is to be expected. The organization isn't where it needs to be but it's well on it's way and if you need any proof look no further than the customers.

ConsWorkload varies and presents challenges from time to time however organizationally it balances out over time.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to invest in products as you have over the past 24 months and protect the culture you've developed since leaving LexisNexis. It's the current culture that will take this organization to new heights!

Great place if you enjoy being challenged

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Hartford, CT

ProsThere's always a challenge, and lots of opportunities if you can actively manage changing priorities and can self-advocate.
There's a place here for strong programmers in legacy as well as leading edge technologies.
This is definitely a place to cultivate your development skills, from production support programming to enterprise architecture development. Strong programmers needed!

ConsNot for the faint of heart. The pace can get crazy, but there are opportunities for great accomplishments.

Advice to Senior ManagementStay focused on long term sustainability and culture.

    Learning something new every day

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsI’m a long term employee who has held various positions here at Insurity throughout the years – including developer, technical lead and management positions. Quite frankly, the thing I love most about working here is meeting the challenges of a fast paced environment where everyone at all levels/job functions has a direct impact and influence on the successful implementations and ongoing support for our customers. The people who work here are among the brightest and most innovative in both the insurance and technical sectors. Being part of such a highly talented and capable team where I feel like I learn something new every day and my input is valued has kept me on my toes, satisfied and very challenged through the years.
We are a unique software company in that we are focused on both product/tool development as well as customer implementations of our base product. A lot of competitors in our industry focus on either one or the other. If you are the type that flourishes in a fast paced environment, embraces the uniqueness of our business and enjoys the constant focus on providing great customer service, this is a great place to work.

ConsIts hard to come up with cons for me personally, but I suppose people who do not want to be challenged every day might see my pros section as a con.
