I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

it is one of the most challenging places I have ever worked at. You need to be an expert on everything in your are, including those areas you may not be an expert in. So study fast.

    Cons

Intel can take over your life. We try to practice Work Life Balance, but that is not always successful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People have lives outside of the company, it is good to remember that.

I have been working at Intel Corporation

    Pros

Needless to say, Intel is a tech pioneer and remains on the cutting edge of Process and Microprocessor Fabrication Technology. The company realizes the lost opportunity in the Mobile market and is trying to catch up. The company's efforts to offer its manufacturing prowess to third parties is a bold initiative but will need to be managed VERY carefully.

    Cons

The current Strategic Planning Process has failed the company. Too many technology inflection points (communications, mobile etc) have been missed or inadequately addressed

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good Pay, Smart Co-workers, Good Perks, Good Benefits. Very socially conscious company that is the #1 purchaser of renewable energy in America. Created the world's first conflict-free semiconductor. Spends millions on education initiatives. We make the technology that makes the world go round. I and most Intel employees are Very proud to work for this company.

    Cons

Lots of Bureaucracy, Much of senior management is staid and stuck in the past. Leaders are timid, too slow moving, and often yes-men/women. Paul Otellini and his crew COMPLETELY missed both the smartphone and tablet market and the company suffered big time as a result and is still suffering. After Otellini resigned unexpectedly, Brian Krzanich got the top job and has done very well so far.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to and listen to the folks working in the trenches. Be Humble.

I worked at Intel Corporation as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Technical interns get very involved in the design process and everyday activities of your group, the work is relevant to your academic experience, you learn a lot as an intern.

    Cons

Not the best employee benefits, not the best salary, no free food (except for fruit), management is not clear about the overall strategy of the company and the rationale for recent acquisitions.

Overall pretty good company to work.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

pay is above average for engineers

    Cons

too much turnover on the management side. so you usually get unexperienced managers that will probably negatively affect your review due to lack of understanding. I don't like the "you vs your coworker" mentality. I creates issues and affects moral IMO.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

On-Site Medical Clinic, Bank, Gyms. Great pay and benefits.

    Cons

Will toss you easily when they don't need you. Regardless of how well you worked. Its a HR decision based nothing on job performance. Favorable criteria is given to those who are hired locally then if you were an out of state hire (Facility must be staff 60% with NM residents). Not necessarily are the best people kept in a RIF. The new CEO BK is a burn it to the ground and operate more with less type of personality. Intel will place profit over people!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
