Current Employee – been working at Intelligent Mechatronic Systems

Former Employee – worked at Intelligent Mechatronic Systems full-time for more than a year
Pros – Most of the engineers working at IMS are incredibly intelligent and passionate people. Tthe work can be incredibly interesting, IMS has some interesting projects in the pipeline
Cons – Management doesn't know when to say no to features, stupid client requests or when to kill projects that are a huge waste of time and money.
Projects are frequently understaffed and the amount of red tape necessary to get anything done at IMS is ridiculous for a "small-mid size company". IMS likes to thing of itself as a heavyweight and non-negotiable contracts (think Apple Developer Contract) will end up tied up with legal for months/years...
Advice to Senior Management – Take a good look at what is feasible when you are a small-mid size company and focus on doing one thing very well, as opposed to shipping with a million half baked features.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Intelligent Mechatronic Systems full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Great opportunity for the company to gain significant market presense within automotive telematics customers.
Cons – It is still R&D-focused and in transition to restructure itself into software-only company with operations/marketing/customer service behind it. All hardware/mechanical/manufacturing have been cut off and are going to be outsourced to CMs
Advice to Senior Management – Be very carefull with outsourcing - you might be badly surprised when it is TOO LATE!
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – you learn a lot and you gain tons of experience
