I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group

    Pros

plenty of training, company also allow individuals freedom to be themselves, very friendly and relaxed atmosphere

    Cons

It is hard to get to a day shift or weekends off even after 2 years. Everything is based on seniority and with department hiring internal hires on a regular basis, it seems your ranking never moves up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Alternative ways of assigning schedules should be looked at.

I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group

    Pros

Very collaborative with digital marketing strategy. Work/life balance is important to them.

    Cons

It's a hotel company first, technology company second. This can make digital marketing challenging sometimes and technology implementation slow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training needs to be better, a mentor program for lower bands would be beneficial so that they can start growing in their careers as soon as they start.

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group

    Pros

Very collegial workplace environment and excellent team oriented culture. IHG as a whole was a very pleasant work experience, even as a contractor.

    Cons

Management direction always seemed to be in flux, don't know if it was a temporary situation, but it seems that decisions kept getting delayed, leaving us in a sort of limbo at times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more decisive, implement strategies in smaller time increments or stages. Clearer chains of command and responsibility would be helpful. Otherwise, great leadership!

I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Gained a lot of experience working here. Depending on which property you work at you can earn some great bonuses if you sell a lot. Pretty good PTO and work like balance.

    Cons

Upper management was sometimes difficult to work with. There was a lot of micro managing at my property.
