I worked at International Game Technology full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are some very good managers and the company is extremely stable (for the most part.) As a company, as a whole, there is a get it done attitude. If you are this type of person, this atmosphere is great, if not the company may not be there for you. They are also good about letting smart people be smart, not all corporations are like that.

    Cons

For a technology company it is very much "old corporate" with very little room for innovation. There are also issues of management not understanding the gaming industry, which leads to strife and distrust between managers and the managed.

    Advice to Management

Innovate or die! Something has to be done at all levels to bring (especially) lottery products into the 21st century. Also, pay attention to where employees are churning and burning and decide if it is the employees or the environment. I think it would be an eye opener in certain departments/groups.

    Pros

My days were always different even if I had my "to do" list, I could never stick to it, something would come along with higher priority. Great bunch of people in all departments and regions. Loved going to work each and every day!

    Cons

Many fringe benefits that were available for years,. Slowly they were taken away over the past 3-4 years. International Game Technology (IGT) used to draw people years ago for the many extra benefits they offered.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your lower paid hourly employees and compensate with annual pay increases. Upper management should take pay cuts if company is having financial difficulties.

    Pros

Good company to work for, they have great benefits with 401K . World wide leaders in the gaming and lottery industries. People are great to get along with.

    Cons

Really don't have much cons for the company, they have always treated me well. I guess the only con I would have is that they are still making strategic re-alignments due to the current merger.

I have been working at International Game Technology full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - IGT being acquired by GTECH. New management is interested in growing the company again. - New senior management is setting strategy and making decisions. - The people are generally good at their jobs and easy to work with.

    Cons

    - Hoping that most of the cons left with old senior management when IGT was acquired by GTECH.

    Advice to Management

N/A. All new senior management after IGT was acquired. So far they seem pretty good.
