    Pros

Good company to work for. Care about their people. Very sustainable company. Competitive almost comprehensive medical plan.

    Cons

Education level of supervisors not as high as it should be. Hiring of associates and managers takes at least 3 months. Difficult interview process for current employees.

    Advice to Management

Patronage system could lead to a discriminatory hiring practice. Educations earned by associates should enable long time associates to get promoted to next level. Otherwise, keep up the good work. Good place to work at.

    Pros

Great people, good work environment, easy money. Time off when you need it, good benefits, good first job, team environment.

    Cons

Not a lot of work to be done, not much room to grow professionally. Sat around most of the time and talked. Only a few interesting things about paper.

    Advice to Management

Have pre-approved assignments for interns to participate in.

    Pros

Good people to work with and good company. Pay was fair and location was great. Good benefits as well

    Cons

As a process engineer you can expect the every day challenges that come with that title, need to be proactive and motivated to get the job done

    Advice to Management

I think international paper is a good overall company to work for. I always felt like I was respected by the company and have no real complaints

    Pros

The company is very large, lots of mobility, well established, training was very good. Good compensation package. Employees are well compensated too.

Mentoring program was there but mentors need to be trained.

They stressed safety....this was very high point for me personally. They never did anything unsafe.

    Cons

There was to many layers of managers. When something needed to be reviewed it took two layers of managers above you to get it done.

When issues would be brought to the attention of managers it was never addressed it would always be a finger pointing game. It should have been lets work together get this problem fixed. Liked to play the blame game

You could not review or rate upper management. Unprofessional upper managers.

Upper management did not care why supervisor turnover was so high. It appeared that they were not interested

High supervisor turnover..within a year 1/3 of my colleagues changed.

While in meetings not treated with respect. Talked down to. Threats of termination is were often while in group meeting.

    Advice to Management

When having employee surveys they must include all hourly and managers. Supervisors must be able to fill out surveys on the upper support. This was not happening when I worked there.
