    talented people, low pay, stepping stone

    Prosthe company usually has a strict recruiting process and hires quality talent. I have met many people at the company that have become my good friends. chill work environment, casual dress, promotion opportunities. I have seen many people go to great companies after leaving such as facebook, google, edmunds, etc

    Conssuper low pay when I say low i mean LOW. MBA students/grads making 10 or 12 / hr. Mid level programmers for 40-50k. everyone at the company is mad at the low pay which creates a terrible work environment of low morale. Very difficult to get a raise, and even if you do get promised a raise or promotion they delay it for as long as they can to penny pinch all their employees. 3+ months after your "promotion" to see a raise. Any resources you need to do your job more efficiently takes forever to get. Refuses to invest in better technology, unless you are a high up manager or developer, you only get one monitor and a crappy computer that costs 250$.

    Advice to Senior Managementlike a previous review... Bob Brisco proceeded to thank the employees for adding another zero in his bank account when everyone is struggling to make ends meet with the low wages at the company. Bob gets another zero in his bank account and the employees get a cheap duffel bag. invest in your employees and talent it will save the company money and create a better working environment

    A place to learn, that's it

    ConsThe work load is low, but at the same time you don't get much to learn and improve yourself. It is a open secret that the company pays you way lower than others. You hear people leaving all the time.

    A stepping stone to the digital industry

    ProsStress free and you meet some good people here.

    ConsSenior management does not invest in their employees. The turn over ratio was around 50% during the 2007-2009 period, not sure if anything has changed since.

    Managment is a freakshow

    ProsCan be a fun group of people to work with, if you are in Sales. Relatively stable company, lasted through the recession. + 10 years old, if you count their previous name, CarsDirect.com

    ConsCrazy CEO who yells at his own staff every meeting. Weird environment.

    ConsEverything. Unrealistic hopes for commission and horrible managers that make you meet with them and waste your time way too much.

    No focus on employee satisfaction

    ProsI love the work culture - the start-up like feeling and flexibility; the willingness to experiment and improvise within reasonable limits; the non-hierarchical structure.

    ConsThere is no focus on employee satisfaction and employee retention. There is no structure or transparent process for appraisals and performance evaluation and salaries are way below market.

    Advice to Senior ManagementIf you strive to retain employees, you will have to spend a little more; but that will pay you dividends in the long run and improve the quality of work delivered.
