Former Employee - Lacerte Technical Support Representative - Seasonal in Plano, TX
Former Employee - Lacerte Technical Support Representative - Seasonal in Plano, TX

I worked at Intuit full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Full time. Good training. Extensive over the shoulder OJT.
Once you learn all the systems and the software, you can control the panic you might feel when an unknown problem comes up. They are always trying to automate everything into a helpful database and/or watch you for signs of distress.

    Cons

It does get to high stress during the tax season. This usually starts as a seasonal crew from which they will select a few to make full time offers to after season.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Considering that seasonals are evaluated at least twice and usually get bonuses (though maybe not the maximum), more should be allowed in for following seasons.
This is not the policy now although this concept is given lip service.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Intuit has great values and the people you work with are always willing to help. I've always had the flexibility of working from home when I need to. They have great benefits that you can utilize from charging you electric/hybrid car for free, getting a zipcar on campus for free, and reduced pricing for emergency back up day care services.

    Cons

Very flat finance organization so it's hard to move up, the best you can you do is move around different BUs to get exposure to different leadership teams.

    Pros

Great benefits- fair pay, Generous with time off, unless you go over your allotment-then watch out.

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Getting rid of senior employees to save money, as senior employees are paid highest, not smartest move.

Current Employee - Rotational Development Program Associate in Mountain View, CA

I have been working at Intuit

    Pros

As a rotational associate you get to work on things and in roles that you're utterly unqualified to do based on experience. Great opportunity to learn and grow.

    Cons

Intuit is a 31 year old company and the culture is a bit older than a lot of the hot tech cos in the valley. I'd also say that a big problem is that we build a product that many of us haven't had to use out in the wild as small business owners. It's not like making a consumer product. That's why a lot of young folks head toward Mint.com.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    We're heavy in the middle.

    Pros

Employees work together and collaborate well, compensation and benefits are solid, good support and colleagues are bright, intelligent people that have lots of intellectual capital to share.

    Cons

No hiring opportunities for my chosen department.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Environment, Culture, Customer Focus, Benefits, Stocks

    Cons

Politics (the subtle one), Speed at which things move, Innovation in new areas

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your product manager and the leadership from engineering background than pure MBAs and a lot of things will probably be fixed. Your commercial and marketing innovation is great but product and technical innovation sucks...
