I have been working at Invesco full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Smart people, interesting work, salary, great benefits, varied projects (depends on department), non-management have considerable flexibility in schedules, culture committees in some locations do a good job of creating fun events

    Cons

Cultures clash in some areas from acquisitions, hierarchical, too many things going on at once (can't focus on getting something done right - too busy trying to check things off the list, competing priorities)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Doing a million things half-good doesn't make a great company. Listen to the people who do the work. They can tell you how to get better.

I have been working at Invesco full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Base compensation and the 401K match program were both above average for the Atlanta area. The location and facilities were also fantastic.

    Cons

The Corporate Accounting department is run by incompetent managers who would rather not know about problems (largely problems that they themselves created) than have them identified and resolved . Turnover is very high and open positions are filled with outside contractors. Long-term career growth in the Corporate Accounting department is very low given the small size of the group and the unwillingness for management to invest in the careers of their junior staff.

I have been working at Invesco as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Learn a lot from the industry. This will look good on a resume and for future employers.

    Cons

Understaff, hard to move up unless you know how to play 'the game'. There's a lot of favorites in our dept. it's who you know not what you know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give employees more incentives maybe they'll work a lot longer instead of leaving within 2 years.

I have been working at Invesco full-time

    Pros

Great people, comp. is competative, hours are reasonable, corp. culture is inspiring and supportive, advancement opportunities

    Cons

Understaffed in some areas. Lack of definition for job descriptions/roles...seems like it is constantly in flux...Mgmt can lack conviction for their own views

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Being a success invest. mgr. does not translate to effective business and personnel mgmt. at the invest. center level.

I have been working at Invesco full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

After my first 8 months at Invesco, I don't have one negative thing to say. All of the employees are extremely driven and talented. Upper management is very approachable and truly want to develop your career, rather than simply put your skills to use. The company culture is fantastic, and pay/benefits are well above the industry average in my group.

    Cons

Nothing negative to say about Invesco. Very pleased with the company's commitment to better its employees. Excelent benefits and a great place to grow your career.

I have been working at Invesco as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Relaxed environment and laid back managers.
Very positive atmosphere and enthusiastic employees.
They care about your learning experience instead of just getting as much work as they can out of you.

    Cons

Honestly there wasn't much of a downside to working there, it was a great experience and it got me jump-started into my career

I have been working at Invesco full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked with a few great people.

    Cons

Extremely hard to move up, it took me years. Team leads and supervisors all seem as though they hate their jobs, which made things harder on us. Lots of attitude and ego here, and there shouldn't be. Everyone is supposed to be available to "help" yet the dodge phone calls or answer annoyed at you for calling.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your people what you should. You know the job ISNT easy, they admit all the time but yer the pay still sucks. Hire better team leads and sups.

    Pros

Great place to gain experience in asset management industry

    Cons

Instead of weeding out bottom 10%, they annually weed out top tenured people. It's frustrating to see long-timers leaving year after year for no reason other than tenure & associated pay. Get experience but don't plan on growing your career here.
