    Cons

Reorg, Lack of Understanding of Unique Business Units

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Iron Mountain corporate has made huge changes to unique business units, severly affecting the function and adaptability in competitive markets. Decisions which are seen as "strategic" is nothing close to it as they compare Records Management operational models with a business line that is vastly different, therefore setting up the business line for failure. Key management attempted to understand this unique business line and altered organizational structure without trying to understand the complexity. This was the 3rd or 4th wave of changes in a matter of years (all of which hasn't improved our business line) but made it worse as they continue to perform "analytics" which drive their decision-making and give them the false notion that it will catapult the business. Learn to understand the business in a deep manner.

    Pros

Good location; can work from home; Different areas that you can move into. Co-workers are friendly and good.

    Cons

Jobs being sent off-shore. Management takes pride in being unemotional and cold. Roles are very specific so getting anything done internally takes a large team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some leaders are quite frankly that not that great. Many managers were let go but the right people didn't fill the gaps.

I have been working at Iron Mountain Inc full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Iron Mountain has good management practices with solid policies and procedures without getting overly bureaucratic. I have been at companies with too little structure an ones with too many. Iron Mountain has the best balance of any company I have worked for.

    Cons

How will the future of the company change as it pursues a REIT structure? Iron Mountain has had it's share of layoffs in the past and have parted ways with many strong performers.
