    Pros

Great employee discount; it can be combined with the coupons that are in the ads. Great products. Open communication between management & associates. Get to have small celebrations for meeting credit card goals such as pizza parties

I have been working at J. C. Penney full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed the associate discount as well as my coworkers. I also learned things such as preparing the sales floor for new merchandise as well as customer service in a retail environment.

    Cons

I do not like the constant obsession about icaps (Credit Applications). The losing shifts could also be very long and understaffed, especially around holidays.

I have been working at J. C. Penney full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The people I work with are the best. Not only do I enjoy the team I work alongside every day, but I enjoy the customers I help daily.

    Cons

The management team. My managers don't realize we are all there for the customer. They're too busy checking numbers. They don't understand there job is to take care of associates so the associates can take care of the customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work with your team to do whatever you can to ensure each person has what they need to give the customer the best experience every time they come into the store. Quit worrying about what the numbers say and start worrying about how the customer is being helped.
