    Excellent company to work for.

Mortgage Underwriter (Former Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsExcellent pay and training. Opportunities for advancement.

ConsThe company is known for laying off employees. Many of my friends and coworkers have been laid off particularly in the Mortgage Department.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would suggest that management not over staff when the work load increases. This appears to contribute to layoffs when the work load becomes stable.

    Great company to work with

Vice President (Current Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsDirector Board and Operating committee sets clear directions. So you are well aware of company goals. Great mobility opportunities. Great leaders. Great learning opportunity.

ConsI don't see anything I didn't observe outside of this company. If you have a career plan and work towards it, chase does their best to help you. Mobility can be hard at times if your appraisals were bad and your Manager can sabotage your career by giving a bad rating.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work. Listen more to the employee surveys. Also meet your direct reports -1 once in a while.

ProsExcellent benefits, great work life balance, great room for advancement if you take initiative.

ConsThere is a lot of red tape when trying toget big projects done.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere are too many roadblocks when trying to work between different lines of Business. Do everything you can to remove unnecessary policies and procedures so employees can be more productive. Continue to seek out and develop top tallent. I have been promoted twice since I started two years ago. It is so wonderful to work for a company that does not place a glass ceiling on employees!

I learned so much from the departments I worked in and will carry that knowledge with me in my future career choice.

Prosgreat opportunity to cross train in other jobs within your current department or the ability to transfer to another department, good benefits, some offices offer daycare for the new mother to return to work quicker
