    Pros

No problems with management. You have your set hours which u applied for at the start so its not changed around all the time. Just come into work and get your tasks done. No problems.

    Cons

Working as a stock replenisher, they sometimes give a large amount of work which isnt really do-able by the end of the 10 hour shift. But doesnt happen too much. Nothing that would put me off the job a lot. Also 10 hour night shifts can affect the rest of the week even though its only 2 days of work.

    Advice to Management

Assistant manager should actually do some work instead of just doing nothing.

    I worked at J Sainsbury full-time

    Pros

Competitive salary for retail industry! Benefits include pension, bonus scheme, staff discount and sharesave scheme. Expect t o receive excellent training and development opportunities. Colleagues are always treated fairly and with respect!

    Cons

Travelling time and work life balance can, at times, be difficult once you become a manager due to the needs of the business!

    Advice to Management

Never understood why department managers can't work at store s closer to home!!! Having to potentially drive one hour each way to work when your a night shift manager can be dangerous!!!

    I worked at J Sainsbury full-time

    Pros

Great support and people throughout the wider business. Lots of space to do the job at hand, and also trust throughout the company that I could do the job and was doing my job correctly

    Cons

Digital experience team was brand new and managers were completely clueless. Trust within the incompetent staff members was then counter productive.

    Advice to Management

Stop land grabbing / Actually be good at what you do / understand the sector.

I have been working at J Sainsbury part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They pay a decent wage for customer service assistants compared to some comparable companies. I have found it easy to fit in and everyone is keen to help you if you ask for it. I've found it to be a good job whilst I've been at university and it has been immensely helpful for me to learn about work whilst also studying.

    Cons

If you want to become a team leader you're given much much more responsibility yet not given much of a pay rise.
