    Pros

    Great training. Fairly good pay. Opportunities to undertake overtime and work in other departments. Friendly colleagues and managers. Opportunities to progress.

    Cons

    Changing of shifts at short notice. Team leaders and managers forgetting when lunch breaks are. Work can become repetitive. Communication is not always that good.

    Unskilled, various and wide hours available, good amount of training, bonus at the end of the year, very strong "team" mentality

    Cons

    Getting a day off approved needs to have 4 weeks notice in advance, as does swapping a shift.

    Great progression opportunities if you are looking to progress. Lots of overtime and great atmosphere. You can do overtime in other stores (LOCAL) so you can get all different experiences meet lots of people and learn new things.

    Cons

    managers coming and going. Not all customers are polite so you have to deal with it. shift patterns can be difficult and not always organised (doing a late shift and then a morning next day)

    Friendly, flexible supportive company which will encourage you to progress as far as you want to and are comfortable. Opportunities for transfers, secondments and multi-skulking across divisions.

    Have to be autonomous even in a large store, retail is a challenging environment and very changeable, demands of store or department can change on a daily basis, change programmes must be supported regardless of your personal opinion and /or knowledge.

    Pros

    Training is excellent, colleagues are friendly, working hours are managed fairly. General work environment is happy, and everyone is proud to work together as a team.

    Cons

    Some days are busier than others which is hard to prepare for, so the working day is unpredictable, though that could be part of the fun too.
