    Pros

For a large company it really functions well and you feel like what you contribute is taken seriously. Higher management frequently visit the sites to discuss the company's hopes for the financial year and beyond, and to answer any concerns that employees have, so there's good communication all around and it's reassuring to know that any problems a colleague may be having, whether it's work related or financial or personal, that the company genuinely care about this. Another thing about working for a company that is so large is that you get to potentially learn the trade from so many different department perspectives, which is a valuable experience. The uniform isn't bad either and it dries quickly.

    Cons

There's no longer a Starbuck's in the building.

    Pros

Positive management culture that encourages respect and hard-work. I can generally find a good work/life balance and enjoy the work most days.

    Cons

Promotion opportunities have become non-existent at the paygrade above Department Manager. Most HR Managers have been axed, Deputy Manager roles have been cut as have the Regional coaching roles.

    Advice to Management

When you decide that 4S managers and above aren't getting their MCM and MAC bonus and all the other colleagues are then have the good manners to explain why, all I got was a shrug, a letter would have been nice.

    Pros

Free uniform and cheap food in staff room

    Cons

The discount is only 10% ( should be higher on Sainsbury's products), management is poor and often clueless as they are often trained by sales assistants on departments other than checkouts, very unprofessional, there's also lots of favouritism. The pay would be alright if I wasn't over worked and alienated, many staff have bad attitude and if you want a transfer you have to prompt instore HR. I wouldn't recommend anyone to work here.

    Advice to Management

It's really gone downhill this past year, many people have left due to poor treatment and poor management mainly. Sainsbury's really needs to sort it out because it's getting ridiculous now.

    Pros

Sainsburys is a great employer and offers colleagues many great benefits such as discount and generous holiday allowance

    Cons

No negatives about Sainsburys except their wages could be higher in competition with supermarkets such as Aldi and Lidl
