    District Manager (Current Employee)

ProsThe people are genuine and great to work with.

ConsWay overworked! No work life balance. Not able to disconnect with the job. Not good for the brand.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart taking care of your employees needs just as much as you care about the paying customer needs.

Long time employee, no employer loyalty, WAS a very good place to work.

IT Professional (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsThe pay is fair. Provid gym and restaurant inside office. Benefits can be good. Upper management has some great ideas, if they can pull that off, Jack will succeed.

ConsFranchising corporate sites was a mistake. No money left to do the job correctly. If you are in upper management benefits are great!
Lost touch with who built the brand in the field and in corporate and regional offices. Franchises offer no benefits. lower pay than corporate restaurants. Corporate office gets less money, and less support for the field. Franchisees are left to sink or they are too concerned about the bottom-line, so they cut cost which affect customers. Franchises pay employees less, employees transferred to franchises lose benefits, time served, they get cut in pay or have to leave. And the franchise under staff compared to corporate sites, which create poor customer service to customers. Many of the last 100 or so restaurants were sold for a song to achieve 80% or so franchise percentage, before scheduled.

Corporate employees are oblivious to this.

Jack can succeed if it is not allowed to be driven into the ground.

Advice to Senior ManagementFranchising is great it can expand the brand, that is how are competitors grew! Selling off our corporate sites and cutting pay to field employees, by way of franchising is not the way.

Your experience will depend on your fellow employees

Cashier/Cook (Current Employee) Long Beach, CA

ProsFlexible hours, discounts, and clean environment.

ConsNot a good place for teens or college students.
    Very judgement employees.
    Rude customers.

Advice to Senior ManagementI am a college student that is working part-time, and it is very discouraging when people that have been working for years at Jack in the box make new employees feel like they are idiots. I am the only college student, and the others make it seem like only working 6 hours a week is a bad thing. I am aware of the fact that many people do depend on jobs like these to support their families, but it is not right single out people who are seeking out a higher education.

SOOO many changes - is it time to jump ship?

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

Pros--Leadership is trying to cultivate a culture of "fun, excellence, agility, simplicity, and trust", while bringing the company into budgetary alignment in regards to being now 80% franchised
    --Every other Friday off

    Cons--Low pay, many layoffs/early retirements
    --Very low morale
    --No career ladder

Advice to Senior Management--more transparent communication, and more often
--bring salaries into alignment with San Diego norms
--initiate a Leadership Development program, illuminating career advancement/paths
--drop the "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" mentality. Obsolete is worse than broken. If it's obsolete, fix it. If it takes 10 hours to do here, when other companies can do it in 2, fix it.

company can't decide where they are going

Restaurant Manager (Current Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsClean environment, devoted customer base, good food, decent pay, decent benefits, you will do well if you can play the politics,

ConsLack of direction, constantly changing standard, corporate doesn't have a clue on restaurant procedures, new equipment doesn't seem like it is tested well, procedures are dificult and cumbersome

Advice to Senior Managementquit firing the people who actually know what they are doing to hire newer cheaper people without a clue. The marketing campaign is not working get some better people. This used to be a great company its sad what the new regime has done to it.

    Worklife Balance is the best

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsCompany has great policy for worklife balance. Flex hours and schedule. A lot of nice people work here that trulely care about the company and the people.

ConsThe company is going through a lot of change right now and unfortunately has resulted in some good people to leave the company. Both voluntary and involunatary. Difficult times right now as general mood in not good but hopeful it will return to being a great company to work for.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry and get all changes completed as soon as possible. The changes have taken a big toll on morale and needs to bebuilt.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
