Trying to pay for an education on minimum wage.

Team Leader (Current Employee) City of Spokane Valley, WA

ProsThe only pro to jack in the box is the life long friendships I have created with some of my coworkers

    ConsTerrible bosses(area coaches, district owners
    No air conditioning
    No one listename
    High expectations, little pay
    People
    Attitude of bosses
    People
    Etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook into your stores, my boss leaves to take the deposit to the bank for 3 hrs ( 5 min drive) don't know the last time I saw the area owners. When I do they never tell the crew they are doing a good job, always critical. I have worked for jack in the box since 2009. I am a full time student and employee. I hate every moment that I am there. It used to be nice when I first started. But with the new owner and the upper managment eveyone has unrealistic expectations of all the employees. My checks are barley 600.00 and I have been a team leader for almost 4 years with no opportunity to go further because "I'm not making this a career". What happened to it begins with internal serivce? That got lost with corporate. I now have to come in on my day off for a 1 hr meeting when I live and hour away, waste of my time and effort. Thanks jack. Suicide here I come.

    Do not work here

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe people are normally very nice. Flexible hours.

ConsEveryone at the Jack in the Box I work at treats their job like high school, everyone is always gossiping and making fun of those who do not speak spanish. We hired people who don't understand english and it creates a lack of communication between the cashiers and cooks, which creates a lot of inefficiencies in our window time. People have also made of other employees for being "too nice" to the customers.

A lot of hours not enough pay.

Restaurant Manager (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

Prosno organization . They don't back there Store Managers. Jack will let employees and team leads no call no show and even quit (walk out in the middle of the shift three times)
     then bring them back.

ConsYou are constantly running a shift with one or two people, includes fryers, grill, assembly, D-thru front cash and still expected to hit sos

Advice to Senior ManagementThink long and hard before you take the position, Your life is there's never a weekend off. supposed to have 5 personal days, five sick days, but if you take one they will write you up for missing a day

Its Exhausting and they do not respect when you feel sick nor when is a family emergency, there is a lot of favoritism.

    Cashier (Current Employee) Indio, CA

ProsThere is nothing good about this job.

ConsYou are over worked and no matter how good a job you do, you don't get rewarded or praise just "Thats your job" but you need to miss work they give you a warning for pointless reasons. They do not care about your problems on the side even if it's personal and if you are sick you better take some medicine because there is no way you are missing. I regret ever applying at this restaurant.

Advice to Senior ManagementSet some boundaries with the power of the supervisors.

    OverWorked,UnderPaid and UnAppreciated

Team Leader (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

    ProsNo pros all bad

ConsPay is minimal damands are ridiculous constantly changing

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat ALL the employees with respect and dignity ... try asking employees about what really goes on in your restaurants... show appreciation to ALL employees ... u only seem to reward assistance and up and they do the least work... evaluate employees on their work not the sales at store ... the employees have no control over sales even when they suggestive sell and give customer a wow experience

It's a very harsh environment to work.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFree food, drinks, get to try new things, opportunity for advancement, checks every two weeks, making your food unique sometimes.

ConsRude coworkers, poor management, terrible customers, no breaks, no meals, end up staying 2-3 hours after your shift ends, constant threats of being fired. Issues and needs are not taken care of. Go through management like a box of tissues. Had to train myself on everything. Got no formal training whatsoever. Those videos teach you nothing and the stuff they should be teaching you you only learn when you become team leader. People think its cool but you have to deal with way more bs and only get paid 75c more for it. If you have a choice don't work here and don't be team leader. It's is not worth it. And I wouldn't suggest going higher. Management gets kicked out every six months as it is.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't punish your good employees while your bad employees get away with everything.

    Sucks.

    Team Leader (Current Employee)

ProsAt least you have a job.

Consbad pay, horrible hours, and just a bad experience overall.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your workers better. The "low-level" employees are the reason any of you even get paid and you treat them like crap. Paying your workers exactly minimum wage is just telling us that if you could pay us less, then you definitely would, which doesn't exactly inspire us.

    Disingenuous Executive Leadership team

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsDecent insured health benefits package

ConsArrogant, uninformed leadership team. Myopic, ethnocentric worldview. Utterly transparent, self-serving interests that protect the status-quo and upper management's many entitlements and fat paychecks.

Advice to Senior ManagementSeek first to understand - collaboration, trust and open communication are key. Actions speak so much louder than empty words and promises. Lastly, it's not the how pretty the package is wrapped, but the contents that count.

    Need to escape

    Crew (Current Employee) Boise, ID

ProsSome cool co-workers. That's about it.

ConsEverything you can think of. Franchise does not offer medical benefits. I haven't seen a raise in over 3 years. Constantly screamed and lectured at. Will not be staying at this company much longer, saving up to move away to a state that doesn't have Jack in it. Customers are very rude and demanding. Schedule always changing. Expect cold shoulder/not understanding from upper management when you don't make the numbers.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to communicate better. It's not always the employees fault for everything that goes wrong. Customers are drunk idiots at night.

Jack in the Box Sucks, There cheap. Specially Franchise.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe manager works around my schedule

ConsI been there as a Team Leader (which is a lot of responsibility) going for 4 years and am at $8.75
They don't care about there employees. No benefits. They work u like a slave.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou should take care of your employees, they are the face of jack in the box. Don't just criticize for the bad things they do but also be thankful for the Good things they do.
