I have been working at Jack in the Box full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Advancement for those willing and able to do their jobs correctly and efficiently.

    Cons

It can be very stressful at times when a rush hits and your team and you are not meeting goals or expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the employees more, they have good ideas. Also make sure they are taken care of, your turnover rates and store performance directly depend on how well you treat your employees.

I have been working at Jack in the Box full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

--Leadership is trying to cultivate a culture of "fun, excellence, agility, simplicity, and trust", while bringing the company into budgetary alignment in regards to being now 80% franchised
    --Every other Friday off

    Cons

    --Low pay, many layoffs/early retirements
    --Very low morale
    --No career ladder

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

--more transparent communication, and more often
--bring salaries into alignment with San Diego norms
--initiate a Leadership Development program, illuminating career advancement/paths
--drop the "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" mentality. Obsolete is worse than broken. If it's obsolete, fix it. If it takes 10 hours to do here, when other companies can do it in 2, fix it.

    Pros

    You get discounts on food.

    Cons

This has to be the worst job that I have every worked! It's a very high stressed and demanding job. It doesn't pay enough for the stress that I deal with there. We're always short staffed all the time and the benefits aren't that great!

I have been working at Jack in the Box full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Company has great policy for worklife balance. Flex hours and schedule. A lot of nice people work here that trulely care about the company and the people.

    Cons

The company is going through a lot of change right now and unfortunately has resulted in some good people to leave the company. Both voluntary and involunatary. Difficult times right now as general mood in not good but hopeful it will return to being a great company to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try and get all changes completed as soon as possible. The changes have taken a big toll on morale and needs to bebuilt.

    Pros

Clean environment, devoted customer base, good food, decent pay, decent benefits, you will do well if you can play the politics,

    Cons

Lack of direction, constantly changing standard, corporate doesn't have a clue on restaurant procedures, new equipment doesn't seem like it is tested well, procedures are dificult and cumbersome

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

quit firing the people who actually know what they are doing to hire newer cheaper people without a clue. The marketing campaign is not working get some better people. This used to be a great company its sad what the new regime has done to it.

I have been working at Jack in the Box full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Time flies - when it's a busy day, it won't be long before the shift ends. Plus, there tends to be easygoing hours, not to mention it's very quick to catch up on.

    Cons

I'm not sure if it was the store itself, but there were so many days that it's utterly packed it would be scary. Not to mention the silly more-than-what-should-exist drama that emanated in there - the manager and the one before had such preferences/biased statements to the point all cashiers would have lack of hours, yet get still called in off-hours due to shortage. (I mean come on, what kind of manager are you if you can't even get the entire schedule fixed up nicely?) Not to mention the lines we HAVE to say in order to "have more hours"... not very pleasant in everyone's favors. Plus a waste of time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If we have a certain "time" to beat handing out orders, then don't make us say "How is our service today?" to our guests - it kills our time to hear opinions, not to mention it makes this company have a desperate image - ESPECIALLY if our actual hours LITERALLY depend on it. ONE MORE THING: for the love of customers, if you wanna keep employees, then for crying out loud, get the recorded hours right - the fact that I have to take photographic proof that I haven't been getting the proper pay for the amount of hours I REALLY have been working, not to mention having to record a document of such as well, is truly something that isn't good at all in your image. Sincerely, a very grumpy worker of a 50+tacos/hour store.

I have been working at Jack in the Box part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There is plenty of hourly flexibility. If you are going to school or anything of that sort, management accomodates your schedule.

    Cons

Night shifts are very scary, because they only let 2 persons in the store. Drive thru and diner are open. That's one of the reasons I quit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All the team members work extremely hard for the company and management has no type of rewards or appraisals. You need to at least give "thanx" to your workers since there are no type of benefits.

I have been working at Jack in the Box full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great people to work with. Decent benefits. In house gym and Jack.

    Cons

Jack in the Box used to be a great place to work. In the past couple of years the morale has taken a drastic spiral downward. It's due to the change in business model and decisions made by upper management. Downsizing is not always the best answer even if it seems more economically sound at first. Quite often when you outsource, that company will nickle and dime you to death. You also lose very valuable and loyal employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please open your eyes to what is going on in the company. You have very loyal employees who are looking for other jobs because of your poor decision making. You are ruining the company due to your personal greed. It's time for a big change in executive management.

    Pros

    Good working hours, good pay.

    Cons

Quixotic leadership following will of the wisp ideas, no tribal knowledge maintained.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Study your company's history. Get a better sense of the group knowledge by removing the fear of reprisal when comments don't follow the required party line. Get outside of your clique of yes men and women. Get out of your office and visit the peasants occassionally without your posse.
