I have been working at Jacobs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Company has always looked out for me even as the actual jobs I was performing came to an end. I have transitioned into 2 other positions with no problems.

    Cons

None really to speak of... most my time with this company I was overseas... with that being said I did not have to deal with to much bureaucracy.

I have been working at Jacobs

    Pros

The Global Building sector of this company has a great sense of work/life balance. People work quickly and efficiently and their personal lives are respected. Not many holidays or vacation days, and no bonuses, but the people are incredible and the work is stable.

    Cons

No bonuses and low number of PTO.

I have been working at Jacobs full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits if you have a family, high salaries and easy going environment. Interdisciplinary company so you can learn a lot from the other trades

    Cons

Very corporate environment, so there are a few higher ups who have no grasp on wtf they are doing, but have a grand title.

I have been working at Jacobs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I have been with his company for 6+ years and I truly believe this is a great company to work for. As an A&AS Defense Contractor I work at the Customer's site with very little interaction with Jacobs Corporate. My direct management also works at the same site so there is very little "micro management" from corporate. This allows us to do what we were hired to do which is support our customer and their needs. Jacobs mission is to provide the best knowledge and expertise needed by their customers and I think they have stayed true to that mission.

    Cons

Because my position was determined and based on a specific Contract vehicle, there have been few opportunities for career advancement as that would require a change to the contract.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    None come to mind.

    Pros

The salary and their strong safety culture

    Cons

If you are not billing hours your job is insecure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so dollar driven and you will create more security for the staff and a better work environment.

I have been working at Jacobs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good people.
Project teams have been consistently strong and focused
Focus on safety on the job site.

    Cons

"Company Convenience Leave" when work gets too slow.
The usual problems faced by very large world-wide corporations; lack of smooth integration between offices, corporate level buzzword of the month, pushing work to India because the rate is cheaper there...
The usual lack of privacy so prevalent in cube farms across the globe.
That furniture was probably pretty nice in 1975...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

MH Estimates are far more likely to hold when the PM doesn't cut hours without reducing scope. Hours = Scope
