    I worked at Jarden

    Pros

Access to working on great brands, great benefits, summer hours

    Cons

No structure in creative services for promoting designers. No matter your skill or commitment level - all are treated equally. It's discouraging for those that want to grow and give 150% but is comfortable for those with less ambition to grow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would advise to work on a structure in the creative department that rewards people's work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Jarden full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company was very committed to giving back to the community. Overall, I gained a lot of rewarding experiences and worked with a number of really great people.

    Cons

Too concerned with margins to keep good talent. Also, there was little effort to support new ideas and find different ways to promote the brand. A new PR agency is really needed to try new ideas and put new blood in the marketing plans.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked for the Consumer Solutions subsidiary. There is a fine line between coddling employees and employee engagement. As such, too many employees were demanding and unwilling to try new ways of doing thing. The company as a whole needs to do more to invest in internal communications.

I have been working at Jarden

    Pros

A challenging environment with the opportunity to develop state-ot-the-art solutions for the reail space. Relationships are respectful and collegial. Micro-management is rare and flex-time based on need is supported. Emphasis on professional development.

    Cons

Intense deadlines, short-term goals, metrics driven activities, stress.. No 'Big Picture' vision or strategy for the long haul. Very difficult to maintain work-life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to develop a vision and strategy that incorporates emerging technologies to leverage the ability to communicate, sell and grow brands. Need to create compelling narratives and identities for each brand in order to be meaningful in the minds of consumers.

    I worked at Jarden

    Pros

Great opportunity to work with established, well known brands, and also on innovative up and coming products. The people are smart and accessible. Good opportunities provided for professional development and training / education

    Cons

The environment can some times be too detail oriented, focusing too much on small parts rather than the big picture. Deadlines can be intense. The company operates in a very competitive space
