I have been working at Jefferies & Company full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

People here are all super nice. Both towards business and for co-workers. I'm in the Tech side and all the required equipments and resources are generously provided

    Cons

Need more people to create more applications. But we know it's relatively small when comparing with other giants

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Jefferies & Company full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Experience, deal flow, knowledge of senior staff, very smart colleagues, analyst relationships, compensation, opportunity to learn technical aspects of energy finance, exposure to senior level clients

    Cons

Long hours, lack of work/life balance, aloofness of senior management, people are not supportive of junior people seeking other opportunities, company benefits not great, unplugged group leaders

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to junior staff, follow firm's Saturday policy, more organized staffing policies, vacations should be honored, senior management could be more approachable, less internal politics

Former Employee - Analyst in San Francisco, CA

I worked at Jefferies & Company full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Smaller teams, so one got a large amount of responsibility. Went to meetings all of the time. Worked in the Tech group on M&A, debt and IPOs. Worked across the tech sector.

    Cons

Extremely long hours - normal banking complaint. Associates / VPs did little - normal banking complaint.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you call it a team, someone other than the Analyst should be doing actual excel / ppt work sometimes. Iterating 25x is not a necessity.
