    Pros

    Small firm, so there's a lot of responsibility.
    Flat structure...you'll be speaking and working with MDs from day 1.
    Good intern projects...no busy work

    Cons

    Being small has its upsides...but also downsides: there's nowhere to hide so you have to learn things quickly. At larger firms, you have a longer grace period.

    Pros

    Worked with various desks. The staff was extremely nice and wanted to teach as much as possible. Had company wide teach-ins. There was a lot of events for interns.

    Cons

    Did not offer jobs to any intern in the Futures department and the program was missing structure in many parts.

    Awesome exposure, responsibility and visibility. Fantastic experience. Unparalleled live deal experience for a 10 week summer intern, was able to make a noticeable impact in the office and was recognized accordingly for my work.

    Like any IB job, no personal life, many 90+ hour weeks etc.

    Pros

    Jefferies' investment banking franchise is fast-growing and well-positioned for the future. If you want to make a career in investment banking, it's one of the best places to go.

    Cons

    Work/life balance is nonexistent. If you want to be an investment banker, be prepared to regularly work 100+ hour weeks and not take vacations for a year at a time.

    Rich Handler is a best-in-class CEO. Rich and Brian's leadership is inspirational.
