I have been working at Jeppesen Sanderson

    Pros

Company products and aviation and customer focus and aircraft products

    Cons

Management, all of them place employees on PIP and fire them, they do not like employees that desire improvements

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace all managers with Boeing management, they are great and take care of their staff.

    I worked at Jeppesen Sanderson

    Pros

Everyone used to be a pilot. Jepp has status for people who fly.

    Cons

If you don't, the consequences of it's not being a software company become more apparent: less oriented to modern processes, technologies.

Great community, although communication/focus can be frustrating and unfocused at times. Internship program needs focus.

I worked at Jeppesen Sanderson as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

Everyone here if really friendly, and eager to let you expand your knowledge and skills. You usually end up in the department you want to work in after a while, as everyone knows each others and is eager to help you get ahead. Benefits are nice and Boeing backing ensures some safety.

    Cons

Sometimes you see a good amount of people not doing their work and leaving it to others to handle. This can make things stressful and chaotic, with a lot to handle at times. Training is an issue as well, as this leaves people not really sure of where to direct you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to grow and push for people to pursue desires, but also start to evaluate the work ethic of team members.

    Pros

Steady work and nice building. They are concerned with workers safety and well being. My boss was respectful and treated his team as equals.

    Cons

It felt like an old boys network. There are many ex military and aviation people working there. I was neither, so I always kinda just felt out of the loop.

Former Employee - Sales Executive in Englewood, CO

I worked at Jeppesen Sanderson full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice surroundings, very helpful co-workers, allowance for some levity and suggestions for improvement if a viable solution is offered along with the problem.

    Cons

There always seems to be that level of stress wondering if you are next on the layoff list. Management has a habit of leading by fear and dangling "carrots" in front of you by way of empty promises of better hours, work conditions or pay if you are willing to go way above and beyond without proper compensation with the old "for now until we get through this rough patch" trick. It all reflects in the bottom line numbers that management ultimately gets credit for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the people down on the bottom of the ladder. Learn what it takes to get the good numbers and give credit where it's due. Cut down on middle management that take undue credit and lead by fear.
MVT used to be someone who paid attention and cared about the people but pressures and schedules changed that. Go back to being the great guy people wanted to please.
