I worked at Jeppesen Sanderson full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Nice surroundings, very helpful co-workers, allowance for some levity and suggestions for improvement if a viable solution is offered along with the problem.

    Cons

There always seems to be that level of stress wondering if you are next on the layoff list. Management has a habit of leading by fear and dangling "carrots" in front of you by way of empty promises of better hours, work conditions or pay if you are willing to go way above and beyond without proper compensation with the old "for now until we get through this rough patch" trick. It all reflects in the bottom line numbers that management ultimately gets credit for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the people down on the bottom of the ladder. Learn what it takes to get the good numbers and give credit where it's due. Cut down on middle management that take undue credit and lead by fear.
MVT used to be someone who paid attention and cared about the people but pressures and schedules changed that. Go back to being the great guy people wanted to please.

I have been working at Jeppesen Sanderson full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits are from Boeing. Good 401k, health, dental. Good culture among other colleagues. Culture that leaders are attempting to instill is unclear.

    Cons

Managers have their own agenda and if your ideas and/or concerns conflict you are marked. Tools are outdated, some are approaching 20 years old. Too many chiefs and they want to add more!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Genuinely listen to people.

I have been working at Jeppesen Sanderson full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Beautiful location in Englewood, Industry leader in Flight Charting, Work life balance, Friendly Coworkers, Benefits package is pretty good, interesting work environment.

    Cons

Time off policies, lack of access to virtual work, archaic tool sets, MASSIVE lack of innovation. This company is stuck in the technological dark ages. Any attempt to advance processes or create time savings is immediately rebuffed by management, then co-opted and presented as their own idea 6 months later.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get with the times, update the tools, listen to analyst and LEARN from the mistakes of the past.

I have been working at Jeppesen Sanderson full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It is a good company to work for. Leader in its field. Excellent working environment.

    Cons

Poor middle management. Their shield themselves from assuming any responsibility. Taking decisions based on personal issues instead of practical and business reasons. Creation of a club.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Boeing should held middle management accountable for the fall of Jeppesen as the so called LEAN culture is used for personnel issues retaliations rather than business decisions . Stop discrimination culture that only US born and bread employees are good enough for management or leadership positions. Stop arrogance in regards to other countries. Stop finger pointing promotions based of friendship. Stop HR covering up for all of the above.

I have been working at Jeppesen Sanderson full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work life balance is tremendous here. I enjoy the people I work with. The data is complex and always interesting. It takes years to understand the complexities of the data and is fulfilling.

    Cons

No upward mobility for those who are not politically connected. Technical decisions are not understood by the business and usually dismissed. You have to make decisions based on politics and not sound technical strategies. This is the most frustrating part of the job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand who gets things done and who just talks. People and groups who continue to deliver year after year should be listened to. People who replan year after year should be let go.
