I have been working at JetBlue part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Working from home, ability to trade shifts.

    Cons

Only 4 flights from SLC and very difficult to get on because so many employees in SLC. Pay is very low for a high stress job. Takes a long time to get a good schedule, plan on working nights and weekends for at least 2-3 years.

I worked at JetBlue part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Working in Ground Operations is insanely easy. You work hard for 45 minute bursts, and often have hour or more breaks between flights. Once you get to know your team members, it's very easy to establish a rhythm and the basic tasks become natural.

    Cons

There is a high turn-over rate. Among the employees that stick around for over a year, there is a heavy sense of entitlement, however that can be expected when much of what happens to an employee is based on his/her seniority with the company. Performance is rarely a relevant factor. The company preaches the values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun, and it is clear that the further down the list you go, the importance of each value diminishes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't pay to send a new hire to Florida for a week of classroom training, provide a $600+ complimentary uniform, and have no issue firing probationary employees for being late. The company could save a lot of money to adopt more conventional training programs and less draconian disciplinary measures. However, JetBlue just opened a multimillion dollar training dormitory. Where is that money going to be made back?

I have been working at JetBlue full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

JetBlue is a great company. They are always informing their employees about what's going on in the company and the industry. They give you a small bonus if all goals are met. As a company they are remarkable.

    Cons

San Francisco is a unique station. Leadership does not really manage. They play favorites. If you get in with them you can get away with anything. Some employees take long breaks. Some employees do nothing and others do all the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Manage and don't be afraid of Micro managing. Be fair to all and do not let your ego or mood decide how you treat employees. Be open to suggestions. Get rid of favoritism... everyone knows. Find ways to bring up morale.

    I worked at JetBlue

    Pros

The people you work with there are the best, the Airport operations crew is AWESOME. The GO crew is awesome as well the bonds that are made between the crew members makes the shifts and days worth every moment.

    Cons

The 90 day Probation period is difficult if you have other obligations and get stuck with a morning shift, also the fact that part time doesn't have health benefits and the only difference between full and part time is an hour and a half.
