    Pros

    Flight benefits and the ease of the commute to the headquarters in Forest Hills. You're reverse commuting so it's never a packed train. Sweet. A distant third is that people like the brand so it's easy to be proud of where you work.

    Cons

    The company is not disciplined and therefore promoted a lot of people early on and has since just stopped promoting. Period. Especially in the non-operational support areas. There is no middle management in many departments and a promotion from coordinator to Director does not seem realistic.

    Advice to Management

    Put the right people in the right jobs and get the wrong people off the bus already. This company has too many people who either don't know what they're doing, don't do it right, or just make their job harder than it really needs to be. Just because it's a young company does not mean we all have to be territorial and stake our claim. In fact, it should be quite the opposite.

    Pros

    Company culture is great. The Crewmembers here are very honest, understanding, and easy to work with. Company has a lot of entrepreneurial spirit.

    Cons

    JetBlue is a small airline mentality that is slowly shifting towards big airline mentality. This process takes time and some managers & directors do not see the reasons why decisions are made a certain way. Some are quick to jump to conclusions and think negatively without finding out the full picture.

    There is no feedback system in place to suggest improvement points for management. Performance appraisals are only performed downward (managers to staff) and not upward (staff to managers).

    Advice to Management

    Better communicate with Crewmembers internally prior to releasing information to the public.

    Pros

    The Benefits! The salary is relatvely better then the rest of the industry.

    Cons

    Unexperience management. The head training liason didnt' even know how to work any of the Microsoft programms. How are you suppose to lead and train ifyou can't make a document.

    Advice to Management

    How about we be on the same page. Don't say one thing to your employees and then a few months down the road say another thing. You lose major intergrity and resepect from your employees when you don't tell the truth .. Six months or a year!?

    Pros

    Better than average work environment. The people are for the most part very good to work with and everyone - for the most part - seems to be trying to work towards the same goal. It is a very tough time in the airline industry, but we need to be compensated fairly - and our current medical benefits are well below standard. Out pay is getting better, but still lags our competition. There needs to be some substantial, meaningful changes in this area or I am afraid that a union will be voted onto the property. Please don't let that happen -

    Pros

    The opprotunity for flight benefits. makes for a better second job and part time if you can find it..

    Cons

    you clean your own aircraft, you can end up with multiple jobs and only 1 pay check. you clean, cashier, take inventory/do stock. The polotics can get in the way of the job

    Advice to Management

    re- evaluate your front lines and the compensation your providing them. When those stormy seasons come around and flights are getting canceled left and right and your employees are literally being spat on! you may want to pay them a bit more to deal with such B.S

    Pros

    Although not always successful people at JetBlue try to do the right thing. Enpowerment was a big thing during the early days of the airline, although it isn't as prevalent as it used to be.

    Cons

    JetBlue was started by people who were willing to take a risk. Over time the Risk Takers have either been driven out or pigeoned hole and made to change over time. In their place has risen the Care Takers. People who require conformity and scorn enpowerment.

    Advice to Management

    The best advertisement is "word of mouth" advertising. The growth of the Marketing Department indicates that we are looking for "cutzie" gimmicks instead of sticking to the best advertisement; a satisfied customer.

    Pros

    Jetblue offers a great opportunity to travel to all levels of employees. The benefits package is better than what most businesses are offering, and management has not increased what employees are paying into it for the past two years. Management is extremely outgoing and willing to have face to face time with all levels of employees. On numerous occasions I have had the chance to speak with the CEO directly, it's extremely rare for that to happen in most organizations. Training is an important part of the company and employees are able to go into their jobs with confidence. Overall Jetblue is a good company to work for.

    Cons

    Employees in Customer service are given ZERO holidays, no sick days, and are penalized for being a minute late even if due to the transportation offered. The pay scale for customer service is laughable, who can honestly live off of $11 dollars an hour? And after three years of service only be making $13.10?? The company is in talks of switching over to HSA'S which would make their benefits package absolutely horrible. Jetblue is in desperate need of a union for ALL of its employees not just the pilots.

    Consider the cost of living when deciding salaries. Yes you pay for parking, and are not increasing what people pay into their health benefits, BUT no-one can live off of a $11 dollars an hour, and after a year $11.75?? Three years $13.10?? That's insane.

    Pros

    great benefits if you like to travel and the pay is pretty good. Company overall is a friendly and fun place to work in an exciting industry. Overall Leadership is good.

    Cons

    Morale within IT is very low. No clear strategy and assumption that everything will be outsourced in the future. No career progression

    The comapny has it's values, it would be good if they were followed in IT

    Pros

    Flexible time off, good place to be if you get sick.

    Cons

    Higher management (VP's) is old school and autonomous. Not very good at trickling down top management new ideas to middle management.
