I worked at JetBlue full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours and schedule. So can accommodate most days off.

    Cons

Unreasonable response time to call in for work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More realistic and less close cutting hours on call out. Better preparation from the company will allow more results from employees.

I worked at JetBlue full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You can make your own schedule after bid

    Cons

You or someone in your family has to be literally dying for you to get an emergency time off. That's if you don't have a tight connection or friendship with someone in management. But if you do, you can get a pass. If you don't, hell! No mercy what so ever!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please look into those that has been in the company for not too long. Those in there for years think they know it all and are playing the company dirty!!! Listen to those so called baby blues... The can see through the bull going on because they aren't poisoned yet...

I have been working at JetBlue full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

JetBlue is very generous with flight benefits. Direct deposit is reliable. There is a large TV in the break room and couches in the locker room.

    Cons

If I could go back in time, I would never have worked for this company. They are involved in an endless struggle of codifying the terms of employment and performance. The recruitment process is an absolute joke. It has improved over the years, however the target selection process doesn't always yield the best results.

I have been working at JetBlue full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The hire people who really care about customer service. They gave 8 free buddy passes each year and you can travel stand-by whenever the flight is open.

    Cons

After I was hired, then I found out my hours were to start at 4:30am even though they promised that my hours would be within the hours of Boston public transportation.

I worked at JetBlue part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Ability to work from home means less time commuting and no dress code to follow. Fairly easy to trade shifts for greater schedule flexibility.

    Cons

Calls are recorded and reviewed by a manager. No real communication with manager unless it's time for a monthly review. This makes it virtually impossible to feel a part of something when you aren't connecting with your manager or co-workers.

I have been working at JetBlue full-time

    Pros

Good Coworkers. Travel Benefits. Caring. Well-known.

    Cons

Political, Hierarchical, Leaders kiss up. New Leaders have fancy backgrounds but terrible management skills and make poor decisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid to change Leaders, even when you hired them. You can't be taught to stop taking the work of others. Let them go.

I have been working at JetBlue full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Paycheck deposited ontime, everytime. Company is growing.

    Cons

Worst health care in the industry and getting worse every year (higher premiums, higher deductibles, less coverage). Industry leading worst retirement. Below average wages (management promised average of our peer set, one of many lies). Extremely questionable job security in the face of a merger or aquisition.

The biggest 'con' though is how management has blatantly lied to its employee groups on many, many occassions, and when confronted, all you get from them is an "oops...sorry. What we meant was...". They misrepresent issues and skew facts in an attempt to run their agenda, hoping the employees aren't smart enough to figure it out. And yes, they have been caught in many lies. Nothing earth shattering or news worthy (you won't see it reported on CNN or MSNBC), but the affect is real--as a whole, most employees do not trust this managment any more. Sad.

And this leads to one of the biggest travesties here--the lack of values. Oh, if you were to be hired here at JetPoo, you would be innundated with the "5 Core Values". Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion. But these are only for employees to follow. Management is exempt. As I mentioned earlier, they have been caught lying many many times to employees on various issues, so the Integrity value is out the window. Charging more for healthcare that doesn't cover as much as the year before while profits are soaring is just one expamle of the lack of the Caring value. By the way, JetBlue is self insured, meaning they directly control the coverages and costs of their healthcare plans. As for Safety, well that's a slippery slope. I'm not going to say this company operates unsafely (I wouldn't still be here if I did), but let's just say there are many many examples of decisions that management makes where the profitability of a route or schedule trumps common sense and forces employees into less than desirable situations and puts the Safety value in question as well as again demonstrating a lack of Caring and Integrity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop lying! Start Caring. Lead by example. It's easy to
