I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Entry level to mid management have the best intentions, are smart, and generally do not play politics. Diverse workforce and collaborative environment. Good pay.

    Cons

New CEO has not made changes needed at the Exec Team level as it is very dysfunctional (Product, HR, Sales). But he is still new, and can only hope he grows into it. Very passive aggressive environment and upper management does not want to hear the truth or disagree over direction.....people who do well or stick around "play the game", especially at the more senior levels.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make some changes at the Exec Team level and don't be afraid of activist investor groups.

I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Routing business, greatest core routers and MX edge routers. Rising switch business.

    Cons

Gloomy future for the security business. High management lost focus, too many favoritism was going on, no mutual trust between the high management and the old engineering team. Hope the re-org can turn around the security business.

I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good benefits and pay are the only pro I can list. Unless you work in a small team with good people...which I do.

    Cons

Where to start. Juniper has had no leadership in the enterprise space since I've been with the company. They have a track record of purchasing companies only to let the technology die on the vine. There is no vision in the company. Unless you work on the routers, you're future will always be in doubt and your product will be ignored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pick a direction and stick to it for more than one year. Last year, Juniper purchased Contrail and that is the last we've heard of the product. Before that, they purchased Trapeze only to kill of the product line and partner with an industry competitor. Instead of buying companies and killing off great products, you should actually invest in R&D that is not Junos releated.
