ProsThere are opportunities for people with all types of backgrounds here.

    Well managed high technology company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Milpitas, CA

ProsChalleging work where one can learn a lot. KLA is a market leader with an engineering driven culture. It is leading edge, while at the same time able to deliver strong financial results. The chalenges to maintain itself on the leading edge are immense, especially while achieving consistent economic value to its shareholders.

ConsIt is hard work, so it may be difficult for many. The culture is results driven, so those who feel hard work is enough will not succeed. If you cannot deliver results, be passionate about what you, work well in teams and persuade others, be relentless in your pursuit of excellence, and deal with frank feedback, this will be a serious con for you.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to drive technology consistent with Moore's law. Deal with a consolidating customer base by leveraging your expertise and creating collaborative relationships. Nuture the supply chain to help gain competitive advantage

ConsYou are one in too many people. You can most likely be recognized in your team only.

Strong strategy, strong technology, strong people - good benefits but you earn every penny.

    Director (Current Employee) Milpitas, CA

ProsBest and brightest people, hands down. Best technology and the technology groups always surpass expectations.

ConsIf you call it a down-side, you better be smart and motivated or go somewhere else. Some new college grad hires are first-rate while others are questionable, at best.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep advancing the strategy beyond anyone's ability to catch up.

Great place to work if you are willing to work hard.

Field Engineer (Former Employee) Milpitas, CA

ProsGood compensation if you consider bonus and profit sharing. Highly regarded top management and excellent training. Vacation and sick leave are merged into "paid time off" which can increase vacation time if you don't use much sick leave.

ConsThere seems to be quite a few reorganizations which can be a god or a bad thing depending on how you feel about your current management. Hours can be long, but probably on par with other Silicon Valley employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would try to limit reorganizations when possible and try to maintain staffing levels a little higher even at the expense of a slight hit to profit.

    Great place to work!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Milpitas, CA

ProsPeope work hard here, very dedicated & sincere. Good management. Lots of oppurtunites to develop your skill sets. If you are a nerd, this is the place :-)

ConsWorkaholic environment. I cannot comment about salary since I am a consultant here. But from what I hear, they pay slightly below industry average.

Advice to Senior ManagementGood management overall. But I would like management to encourage employees to interact more through events, games, picnics etc. Information also don't flow too well sometimes from top level management.

A strong company well positioned for the future.

Senior Manager (Current Employee) Milpitas, CA

ProsThe company has great technology and very good people. KT is a market leader in nearly every market segment in which we compete. We are a global company in a critical industry. We are well positioned to navigate this challenging environment and succeed when the overall business environment improves.

The company has expanded into adjacent markets such as green technology (solar and HBLED) and will be able to leverage the historical strengths as we move into new markets.

ConsAs a market leader a lot is expected of the teams at KT. We are also compete in a challenging and cyclical industry that requires a lot of determination.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt's critcal that we work together in these challenging times.
