    Pros

Provides an opportunity for growth and the ability to work in different sectors with a prove track record.

    Cons

Work/life balance, high turnover rate which can cause instability and extra stress, not the most transparent and can make you feel like an employee number more than a person.

    Advice to Management

Should be more transparent, more open dialogue, and more emphasis on upward feedback as well as downward feedback.

    Pros

-Compensation is competitive -Technology -Office perks (free breakfast, many free meals for events -Highly educated/skilled co-workers

    Cons

-Work-life balance sorely lacking -Geared toward younger employees without families. Don't do a good job of letting employees adapt their career as life evolves. Its 120% all the time, or out. -"Last one standing" Management --- meaning the best A-team people get burned out and leave earlier in their careers, and it seems many upper management job go to the B or C team employees who win a war of attrition.

    Advice to Management

Put more focus into your performance review process, particularly as it relates to management teams. Recognize that just because a person has been there the longest does not mean they are the best for a leadership role. Infusion of new ideas and innovative ways of approaching the work is never a bad thing.

    Pros

Great starting salary and benefits FIVE WEEKS PAID VACATION, starting your first year Easy to get hired right out of college if you are qualified Very stable job Good resume builder, sets you up to move to a better job in the future Opportunities for travel after you stick around for a few years

    Cons

The work I did here was never very challenging or exciting to me The hours: during the busy season (half the year), the minimum expectation is 55-60 billable hours, so expect to work 60+ hour weeks on a consistent basis for about half the year. Don't be surprised if you work an 80 hour week a few times a year. I decided I could make the same amount of money doing more interesting work for fewer hours per week so I left

    Advice to Management

Hire more people so your employees aren't so overworked, maybe people will stick around then. It's the right job for the right person, just not for me.

    Pros

Great company, awesome benefits, good work/life balance, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and conveniently located.

    Cons

As a contractor, you have no job security, benefits, or promise for growth. "Outsiders" definitely get and feel left out of company activities.

    Pros

The best part of working at KPMG are the people. Audit teams are composed of people in their early to mid 20's so you naturally become close. Benefits are great. Looks great to future employers.

    Cons

Long hours, I would regularly work until 11 at night and on weekends. Be prepared for a lot of company politics.

    Advice to Management

I worked for managers who had big egos and liked to work their teams around the clock. This unfortunately tainted my experience.

    Pros

Good place to start your career. It allows you access to see what it is like to work at various companies while you audit them. This company / position will teach you a lot about important compliance related topics and how they apply to various business.

    Cons

They budgets are usually un-realistic. Managers want staff to work extra hard to reduce the risk to the firm, while they agree with clients to reduce the number of hours in our budgets. This causes many engagements to have too much to do and not enough time to finish it in. Also, the biggest thing is that most of the Directors & Managers in IT Advisory in OC are old CPA accounting personnel who don't know a thing about IT. It was laughable how many IT managers had to be educated by their staff regarding basic IT principles.
