I have been working at KPMG US full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people/culture, great place to build a career with many alternatives within the firm and competitive comp and benefits.

    Cons

Difficult work/life balance, although that is to be expected given salaries and nature of the work. Work/life balance is no worse than it would be at competitors or most other professional services firms.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A clearer path to promotion would help retain people.

    Pros

As a big four firm, KPMG is very well known throughout the world as a place to grow accounting and finance talent. Employees usually get to see many aspects of business very quickly and hone technical skills needed for success in accounting. Paid time off is at the high end, especially for new college graduates

    Cons

While paid time off is at the high end, it is often very difficult to use it all without seeing effects on your performance and projects. Long hours are the norm and burn-out is high. Employees are expected to spend a few years at the firm, burn out and move on to other opportunities.

I have been working at KPMG US

    Pros

Great place to obtain great complex experience. The work is challenging and rewarding. Love the people I worked with.

    Cons

Literally no work-life balance. Charged 70-95 hours a week during filing season. Lots of inefficiency. Too many levels of management. Busy season rolls into the next.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Flatten the structure and don't treat people like a number and a though thy are disposable.

I have been working at KPMG US full-time

    Pros

    - Big Name
    - Good Training

    Cons

    - Quality of work
    - Salary to cost of living Ratio
    - Salary to hours of work Ratio

They say summers are slow, which means you charge 40 hours and still work 35 hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to differentiate between individuals that took MBA route to become CPA eligible and the ones that took the MBA route to get into Advisory and are looking for a higher salary.
