Great place to start a career

Tax Associate (Current Employee) Seattle, WA

ProsOne of the best training grounds available to start your career. The SALT department is a power house in Seattle so you are going to work on the largest and most interesting projects.

ConsLong hours, pay, little mentorship, and the company culture needs to be changed.

Advice to Senior ManagementRaise the pay, competitors are paying more and focus on developing staff not on the bottom line. There is way too much emphasis on utilization and so little on developing people.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great firm, poor office for my practice area.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Oklahoma City, OK

ProsTraining is top notch. Opportunities are limitless if you are able to relocate. If moving were an option, I would be a partner today.

ConsI was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Everything taught by the firm was ignored and often discouraged in the office in which I worked. The inconsistencies, ultimately, were too frustrating to stay.

    Great Start

    Audit Associate (Former Employee)

ProsGreat start to my career, learned a lot about the backgrounds of different companies. Learned which type of industry I want to be in. Work with many different people.

ConsHours are extremely unpredictable. Could travel last minute unexpectedly. Didn't show much appreciation for their employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementShow more appreciation. Add more incentives to want to stay longer.

Great experience, not a long term career

Advisory Senior Associate (Current Employee) Grand Rapids, MI

ProsLots of vacation. You'll learn a lot

ConsHigh stress. Pay is not always fair, no room to negotiate for raises in the forced ranking system. Hard to move up past senior unless you want to stay a LONG while.

    Good work, seasonal hours

Audit Senior Associate (Current Employee) Washington, DC

ProsCompetent, professional coworkers, consistent promotion from staff to manager.

ConsSeasonal hours spikes for busy season. Federal practice does busy season in the fall (Oct - Nov), then rolls onto commercial from Dec - March. A long time to be working 60-90 hour weeks.

    modern slavery

Tax Senior Associate (Current Employee) New York, NY

    Proslots of resources, intelligent people

Consfeels like another cog on the wheel

Interesting and challenging, but very tiring.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe 5 weeks of paid vacation is amazing, and sometimes an additional sabbatical program is also offered. Co-workers are very nice and helpful almost all the time. Great start for a career out of college.

ConsWork/life balance is non-existent during busy season. Depending on luck, busy season could last more than 3 months. If a team doesn't get along, the days can become very long.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease don't burn out the staff and take some time to review some of their schedules.
