I have been working at Kangaroo Express full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you are willing to learn and work, you can advance into assistant and store manager positions fairly easy.

    Cons

The company can often make employees feel like they are cannon fodder, though they have gotten better over the past few years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your store managers, most of them know more about whats going on in their store than the DM or RGM.

I have been working at Kangaroo Express for more than 8 years

    Pros

I am full time and management has been fair that i get my hours,

    Cons

Management does not communicate well to all employees. Word of mouth from other employees is how things are communicated. We are told to do one thing and in a few day or weeks it has gone by the way side. Two people on a shift and when thing are not done one person get the blame. Managers seems to be quitting right and left and years of service to the company. it is time to Make it a fun place to work and less griping from our bosses and assistant managers are lousy managers and do as little as they can get by with

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication to all employees on a daily basis. find ways to make it fun and every one will get along and the extra task wont be so hum drum Follow policy if the main thing and stop telling us do ith this way on week and then the next do it another.
Get the company to have a real training program

I worked at Kangaroo Express full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The schedule for management is good, m-f 5-3. You have to work one weekend and one overnight a month but this can be done in one shift, just pick a friday or saturday to do it.

    Cons

long hours, need more coverage at stores, the district managers don't care about the employees, they care only about the results. They need to pay more money for the non-managers for the stores, they need to realize that these are the people who the customer sees every day and 7.50 and hour does not motivate people to have great customer service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop pinching pennies and allow store managers to run their stores properly, the way the hours allowed are computed is terrible and needs to be changed.

I have been working at Kangaroo Express part-time for less than a year

    Pros

good interesting people, work is rather easy, and manager is easy to work with

    Cons

Although they are easy to work with management sucks, customers are rude and obnoxious, and your expected to work for sometimes low hours my 38hrs went recently to 27 and others went down to 16hrs because the company director said labor was too high. This meant 1 person working with a huge line making it impossible to tell if someone is stealing or not and having to rely on the cameras.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to have more communication, and plan ahead when it comes to busy days not to mention order so one does not run out of coffee before the week is over.

    Pros

A simply job good for just that, a simple job. Good for people who go to high school or need a second job.

    Cons

Terrible career path and if your not going to be full time you might as well find another job since the hours are low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'd suggest listening and acting on employees suggestions. Most of what they say if they really care about the job is helpful.
