    Middle of the Road

Marketing Assistant (Former Employee) Kansas City, KS

    ProsFlexible, and good team effort.

ConsCompensation was on the lower end for what you were expected to do. They also have company values based in religion and family. Which can be nice if that is what you are looking for, but as a single young female I found it to be a bit unsettling. There also isn't a ton of room to grow and advance internally. Leaving would be necessary.

Advice to Senior ManagementPerhaps pushing the position responsibilities over the values, and maybe some research into current slaries based on location to avoid quick turnover of employees.

Great company on a national level.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Mount Pleasant, SC

ProsHighly cultural organization. Family oriented, abundant training and coaching provided for agents. High moral and cultural standards and cares for their people in a major way.

ConsNeeds the same level of training for employed staff.
Locally management is MUCH less than ethical to work for. Only driven by the almighty dollar. Company culture and standards not adhered to.

    Inbreeding at KW Headquarters

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsKeller Williams Realty International is a service center for the company's franchise and real estate agents. I've never seen a company more committed to maintaining relationships and satisfaction among those that seek support of the franchiser. KWRI is truly committed to it's Market Centers and the independent contractors within.

ConsHiring direct family members into significant leadership positions brought the KWRI IT department to its knees. The talent has all but walked out the door leaving the rest to stay and either frantically look for jobs elsewhere or wade through the disdain and general unhappiness that remains. The decisions to continue to bring in additional directors and middle management while the workforce walks out should be better thought out. This is the exact reason the KWRI IT Department has not developed a solid, in-house product in well over 2 years.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward your employees for their hard work. Keep salaries (at least) semi-competitive with the industry. Do not dangle annual profit share in front of your workforce as the biggest perk at KWRI while continuously reminding that it's not a promise of income. Let employee incomes reflect performance and let profit share speak for itself.

    Good choice when considering alternatives

Listing Agent (Current Employee) Topeka, KS

ProsCommission split caps low. Opportunities for great training. There is a fun, innovative atmosphere with this company that makes it a more appeaing choice than other brokerages.

ConsYou have to pay for the training opportunities, along with everything else you do. Culture across franchises may vary significantly. I found that I was less satisfied with my franchise than a family member in another town working for the same company. Maybe I'm just not a salesperson.

Advice to Senior ManagementMaking training more affordable to new agents would greatly benefit new franchises.

Great Place For Agents, Not So Much For Staff

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat culture and training (for agents)

ConsSalaries lower than the national average even in cities with a hig cost of living like Los Angeles.

Advice to Senior ManagementShare the wealth with your staff. Offer greater funding for your start-up franchises so talent can be cultivated and retention can be rewarded.

Nice company, but losing touch of the market.

    Realtor (Former Employee) Philadelphia, PA

ProsNice people and nice overall philosophy. Gives back to community and helps each other out.

ConsToo much focus on recruiting and growing each office.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay more attention retention than recruiting.

Think they're the best, but left a lot to be desired

Broker Associate (Former Employee) Bakersfield, CA

ProsNice office, friendly on the surface
    Relatively negotiable on splits
    Some training
    Personal branding

ConsCommingling politics & religion with business
    Poor website
    Cult-like atmosphere of Family Reunion
Not that much emphasis on real estate forms & actual practice
Little participation with the local board's education programs
More interested in "being the biggest"
Constantly recruiting new agents as opposed to supporting the ones they have

Advice to Senior ManagementSeparation of politics & religion from business

    Great place that is sinking

IT Employee (Former Employee) Austin, TX

ProsThe profit sharing was nice and the work life balance was unbelievable. For a number of years, we were truly innovating and putting out some great industry leading products.

ConsA few bad hires in key positions have forced a lot of the talent to leave. You are forced to go to a large convention where you share a room with a coworker and be a servant to the real estate agents.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is a reason all of your top talent has left over the last year. Look into it.

    Verify your TOTAL split!

    Realtor (Former Employee) Omaha, NE

ProsGreat "family" type atmosphere and had some great brain storming with other agents...good access to training materials and events.

ConsLocal market was completely void of Keller Williams until approx 4 years ago and that was somewhat difficult to overcome with local sellers.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
