    Advice to Management

Develop a plan for the future and stick with it rather than changing directions every few months.

I worked at Kellogg Company (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Depending on the division where you work, you will see a stark difference. The VP of Research Quality and Technology, Margaret Bath, was an excellent leader who sincerely cared about her people and tried to provide employees with a good work-life balance and positive environment. She was under a tremendous amount of pressure to perform and was able to lead calmly through the storm. Very positive environment in this division where she should be the CEO. Throughout the organization, safety is promoted.

    Cons

When you hear about the K Values they are definitely in decline. It was impressive to see how the leadership change from ex-CEO, Carlos Gutierrez who truly lived the K-Values started to die once he left. David McKay, was a decent man as well as John Bryant but they were both too concerned with meeting the quarterly results for Wall Street. CEO's should be looking out 25 years and setting the company up for long-terrm success. I don't blame them but the immediate gratification mentality in which we live. One thing that John Bryant did was to promote a very aggressive COO, Alistair Hirst, to reach the supply chain numbers. He was and is, in my opinion a person who believes that the only way to manage is through intimidation. The tougher you were in the plant, the better opportunity to be promoted. The long hours, politics and intimidation created an atmosphere that was conducive to finger-pointing, lack of team-work and for operators to hide the true numbers if they were bad. I truly hope things are getting better.

    Advice to Management

Implement SAP correctly, bite the bullet. Leaders of Supply Chain, understand that you don't have all the answers and you don't really know what is going on. Learn a little humility. Stop micro-managing and allow the plant managers to lead. Help them treat people with respect and promote a better work-life balance. Bring back the culture Mr. W.K. Kellogg had created if you are interested in the long-term success of the company. Stop the politics, it starts at the top. Promote people who still believe and live the K-Values.

I have been working at Kellogg Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Guaranteed 40 hours a week. Good benefits, 401k etc. paid vacation, personal days. New iPhone 6 work phones. Car allowance.

    Cons

Lost company cars. Now forced to work weekends with split days off. Unrealistic sales demands. Some sales rep will over work you and have you do their job yet they bonus out. I only see business getting worse for what was once a great company to be apart of.

    Advice to Management

I understand kelloggs has a business to run but at the end of the day our accounts are what makes our paychecks. We are losing customer relationships by forcing product through back rooms that they don't need. Store management takes it out on rsm's and tsr's and is out of our control.
