    Staffing Supervisor

    Staffing Supervisor (Former Employee)
    Colorado Springs, CO

ProsIT support and payroll support were excellent!

ConsMy supervisor was a bully and unprofessional. When she over hired for my branch, instead of laying off, she bullied, humiliated and pushed to break me until I finally quit (after she yelled at me in front of my entire office for over 30mins!) No actions from corporate after incident even though all my co workers filed a complaint. When I spoke with HR I was told they only support my supervisor as she "bleeds green" and they will not help me. For the record, I was over 300% to my goal at the time I got pushed out....no commission paid out....suspicious timing.
In addition - experienced recruiters look out because they won't let you staff 90% of what comes to you. You will have to pass most good positions to the various professional and corporate recruiters in the area. So you must be content with entry level only. If it's a big company, it goes to someone else, if its management, it goes to someone else, if its IT, science, engineering, accounting, teaching....anything else, you will have to pass it on. Your focus will be on the peanuts of the business.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a hard look at your local leadership. My supervisor used to love to tell other employees all about each other, I knew everyone's business and who was in trouble, not performing, etc and that is NOT professional. She also loved to brag that since she had been with the company for so long she can get away with a lot....and it seems she was right. Really a bad sign that an entire office complained about an incident and your corporate HR was aloud to sweep it under the rug. Shame on you!

    Good experience, unorganized priorities

    Business Development Representative (Former Employee)
    Dover, DE

ProsBranch staff is great. They do not have direction, though.

ConsDistrict manager needs meds, priorities changed constantly. Made it hard to focus on business direction.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet a new Regional Manager.

My experience (to date) has been one-sided.

    Clercal/Receptionist (Former Employee)
    Modesto, CA

ProsIf you get a position, it does allow you to see how you fit into that particular company.

ConsThey do NOT work for the people working through them (their candidates/employees), they work for the employers. Thus they do NOT fight to help the employee keep or find a position. The lack of communication between employees and the staff is extremely weak; a lot of things do not get answered or explained.

Apple Support Rep - Work at Home

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsAt home, flexibility. No commute

ConsIt's best to work for Apple directly. Pay was only $9/hr through Kelly; $14.25 via Apple. Metrics continually changed, but should be better now that Apple took the program in-house.

Temp agencies aren't what they are cracked up to be.

    Clerical Support (Former Employee)
    Chicago, IL

ProsWhen you are working for them they are great.

ConsThey don't care about you after you finish their assignment. Would think after being extended 6 times by the employer, I was something they should keep. /////// Not
    Low salary on certain jobs.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you have good people that don't call in sick or take unscheduled days off or never late, wouldn't you want to keep them because their dependable to your client, which makes Kelly look good. Instead you tell them we have nothing this week which has lasted 11 months.

    "My experience awful"

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Proswhat pros? compensation horrible, broken promises, their "time-off" policy is true...if you are a minute late your laid-off for good. I spent a year trying to get another assignment, but they refused!

Consnever got me another assignment after the one laid me off. I was told that I had quit an assignment "volunteer basis", causing me NOT to qualify for unemployment...NOT TRUE! I was laid-off.

Advice to Senior Managementmake sure that you tell people where they are going BEFORE you have them go to the assignment. Also, make sure that your staff is not making promises they know they cannot keep. I was promised a full-time position (temp to perm), two days later I was laid-off...I was told I had quit, but that was not true. I was let go because I could not keep up with the speed the company wanted me to be at.

    Stress

    Apple AHA (Former Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsWorking at home was the only truly enjoyable feature. The customers were OK for the most part. Get their phone working and they're happy. Training was given in a timely manner.

ConsBig Brother analyzing call content and duration was really stressful. The phony culture was hard to take. Some of my supervisors came across as game show hosts.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe realistic about call duration. Some customers need their hands held especially when they've paid extra for Applecare and are not technically adept. Salary was 2/3 or less than Apple Corporate. Really? The culture was forced team spirit which came across as insincere.
