    Pros

They are vested in your professional and personal development and don't just talk the talk. This company really rewards initiative with opportunity.

    Cons

At the lower levels, people tend to feel like cogs... then again, I think this is a critique of the PR industry more than Ketchum specifically.

    Advice to Management

Recognize talent early and nurture it. There are so many specialties that folks can explore, and I feel that one's value and sense of purpose both benefit from being a specialist. PR folks are easy to lose at lower levels because the rigor and low pay. Giving someone the feeling of investment rather than toil can go a long way in retaining them.

    Pros

Smart (and nice!) people, top tier brands, competitive salaries, values strong talent, excellent growth opportunities if you are committed and willing to do the work.

    Cons

Agency life isn't for everyone, some aspects of office space, etc. could use some updates.

    Pros

Management is incredible - truly care about where you want to go in your career and life. Supervisors are well-versed and go out of their way to teach you - entry level, up. CEOs, partners - very humble, not too big to speak to even interns. Positive hierarchy with lots of room to grow, especially those who are specialized.

    Cons

Lots of work - but it'll push you to be the best employee possible.

    Advice to Management

Continue to care for the entry level as we follow your lead.

    Pros

    - Good hours - Supportive team - Great work culture - Top-tier brand clients - Strong leadership - Competitive compensation - Ability to grow within a role fairly quickly - "Trial by fire mentality" (could be a pro or con depending how you look at it)

    Cons

    - Each division is siloed even though they work in the same office - Some teams have a very corporate, machine-oriented mentality - Top-heavy leadership (too many VPs, not enough support staff) - Office space could use some modernizations

    Pros

Creative people. Impressive and innnovative clients. Dedication to consistently deliver great work. Innovative and progressive approach to work process. Friendly warm and supportive culture in regional offices.

    Cons

The financial management and administrative burdens put on to every single employee is over-wheliming. Staff are spending more time managing their time, filling out paper work, cow-towing to Pittsburgh and the fniancial machine than ever before. It is taking a toll on the people and the work.

    Advice to Management

NY/Pittsburgh MUST simplify, reduce and eliminate some of the financial and administrateive responsibilties of day to day staff. At best it is distracting tehm from their work and career develpment. At worst -- and this is where it is -- it is killing morale and driving good people to other jobs. While you are at it we all need better technology to work with day in and day out -- laptops, smart phones, bandwidth, services.
