Great Company to work for, would probably be more successful if so much time wasn't wasted on micro-micro management.

I have been working at KeyBank

    Pros

The company in general tries to promote employees from within. They offer a lot of opportunities to learn and grow as a person and employee.

    Cons

Although I understand the need for some limited micro management, the practice has become a burden to many of the employees to the extent that it is using valuable time that could be put to much better use.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Back off on some of the micro management.

I worked at KeyBank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Small deal teams within the non-industrial groups so lots of autonomy. The work life balance is excellent relative to other banks.

    Cons

There is a lot of pitching vs active deals so you don't learn as much. In addition, there is a lot of beaurcracy if you are in Headquarters

I worked at KeyBank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

No pros at all in my opinion

    Cons

Everything about the job is not what they tell you...stay away from the business banking area and tge CRM role

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out who the manager will be, and lower the ridiculous expectations and the joke of a commission plan that comes with the role so it can be more appealing to real sales people and you won't have everyone leaving to go to a real job instead of the joke that this one is

I worked at KeyBank full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Training is exceptional, and benefits were excellent. They love to promote from within and offer tons of opportunities to cross train and move into other departments. Even though they are a big bank the teams are very much like a second family. Managers are accessible from all lines of business and everyone is very approachable.

    Cons

The pay is mid to low end, and raises were minimal.

I worked at KeyBank full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

pto benefits are great. Most positions start at 20 days annually. People are great to work with. I worked with some great managers nationally who really cared about their employees.

    Cons

Constant layoffs and reorganizations. You can literally live in limbo of losing your job for months.

Former Employee - Administrative Assistant in Cleveland, OH

I worked at KeyBank (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Attentive Management, employee surveys are followed up on. Excellent wellness programs and abundance of information is available to make doing your job easier and attending your personal needs.

    Cons

Release Aged Workers. It just seems that there is a youth movement going on and if you over the age of 55 your job is pretty much in jeopardy if you're not classified as a "mover and shaker".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Aged workers still have a lot to contribute and still need to earn a living. They deserve better after having given so much of their lives to the company.
