I have been working at Kimberly-Clark

    Pros

Salary is ok, holiday entitlement is alright, colleagues are by and large ok (helps you to survive in that awful environment)

    Cons

Employees stretched way too thinly, inept management at all levels, too much reliance on cost saving to make money and a tremendous lack of product innovation. This is hardly an exciting company at the forefront of things. Way too cautious until it decides on the next round of redundancies. Seems very reactive as opposed to proactive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be bold - follow your own 'one KC behaviours' :)

    I worked at Kimberly-Clark full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Was a good job with a livable wage and benefits although they were really trying to cut the benefits and pay down at the end. Weird schedule, but allowed ample time off while keeping the place open 24/7.

    Cons

They closed the mill and I wasn't willing to relocate out of state to work for a company that would close a profitable local business like that with no good reason.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I can only hope that the company has to pay for all of the cleanup of the location before anyone else will even think about buying it.

    UNDERLYING RACISIM

    • Culture & Values

I have been working at Kimberly-Clark

    Pros

Will cross train workers which is a plus.

    Cons

Underlying racism. Managers and Lead personnel have much difficulty communicating. Many of the Hispanic culture consistently complain about African American workers. What's interesting is upper level management refuse to investigate these complaints, but reprimand the African American workers with no evidence substantiated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When there are issues with core employees in management or Lead positions, it's better to provide formal management training than shift these individuals to different departments to display the same issues and then ask staff to overlook them. Also, when utilizing Temp services, encourage your employees to work as a team alongside the temp associates instead of isolating them. This is antithetical to an environment conducive for success.

    Pros

For other employees, there is lots of movement

    Cons

African american employees have a very hard time moving from their roles and are often pushed out of the organization with little justification. Management does not care about them. If you come here, your career will be stagnant.
