I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Company with satisfying salaries and flexible work arrangements available. Good Training opportunities. Good career opportunities if you are coming in from the outside. There is a lot of great people to learn from.

    Cons

Difficult to understand Performance Management System – It doesn't evaluate people with similar roles in the same way. It create an environment where it is better to stay still than take risks and go to win the match...

    Slow decision making; Big company politics; lots of conflicting initiatives;

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the walk - An organization doesn't change if you choose vanilla 9 of 10 times... Looks for the outliers that can embrace your vision instead of people that looks for the status quo...

I worked at Kimberly-Clark as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Large corporation that allows employees opportunities to broaden their horizons. I worked as an engineering intern with KC for 8 months and learned many things from the mill environment I was in. The pay for the internship was great.

    Cons

No housing stipend, relocation help. There really appeared to be a great divide in salaried employees versus hourly employees. Some equipment was quite outdated and thus made the job difficult. Didn't seem to care too much in trying to retain me as an employee even after getting a "give offer" recommendation from my mentor (offer took 3 months longer than originally stated).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mingle more with hourly employees and try to bridge the gap between everyone. Ensure in place maintenance systems are doing their jobs so that late night phone calls aren't constantly occurring.

I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity to learn. Good work environment, good people.

    Cons

Ever changing priorities. Endless workload that never gets complete due to constant shift in priorities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make decisions, follow through with them. Spend less time on improving things that are not under control enough to improve upon yet.

    Cons

Slow decision making, risk adverse, still struggles with getting a good diversity mix. Required to relocate to get the career growth many desire.

I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Stable company, management is making changes with more focus on winning in the marketplace, business and individual performance/compensation versus just trying to cost-save its way to the next earnings report. Company is making good effort to improve diversity of leadership ranks. Despite the "con" listed below, company is still a good place to work and if you are a top performer you can write your own ticket regardless.

    Cons

Company will bend over backwards to retain women, but doesn't care much about men. Men are tracked into "grunt work" assignments with high travel at staff or end up working in a plant in the middle of nowhere, or their careers don't advance or go backwards. Women have a lot more opportunity to be "picky" on their work assignments with a lot less penalty for wanting to manage work-life balance, location, travel requirements, etc.

    Pros

Transforming the organization to better compete and serve consumers. A great company from a work-life balance. Informal culture with dress code and open door policy with sr. executives.

    Cons

    Still slow to decision making
