    I worked at Kindred Healthcare

    Pros

The atmosphere of the building I worked in was amazing. It was like a family. For the most part everyone wanted to help.

    Cons

The company itself did not care one way or another about what was happening at their facilities. If you complained, it came down on you not the management that was the problem.

    I worked at Kindred Healthcare

    Pros

    Semi decent benefits.
    Capital purchases were timely.
Good corporate tools for doing a good job.

    Cons

Corporate micro management about stupid things.
HR was a nightmare, never ever file a complaint, you will end up as the target.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of my way and let me do my job, which by the way was exemplary according to my CMS surveys.

I have been working at Kindred Healthcare

    Pros

Some of the staff are helpful and knowledgeable.

    Cons

Many of the staff do not care about patients or their outcomes. Some nurses are truly busy working while others are just lazy. You always have one or two of thsee nurses in my experience, but to have so many in a small hospital is toxic. Also, little to no management help. When concerns are brought to attention they are usually swept under the rug.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be prevent on the floor to encourage aND enforce proper care!

    Pros

Co workers are friendly. They will work with your school schedule. The health savings account helps you cope with poor medical insurance.

    Cons

Low pay. Poor employee moral. Horrible benefits. Not very much paid time off. You will be worked to death.

I have been working at Kindred Healthcare

    Pros

Great co-workers that understand the struggle.

    Cons

High patient load, team disappearing on you, management rarely there and when they are there they offer minimal help. You're on your own most of the time and take the blunt of the criticism.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more help and you promote well-being of the employee yet do not offer enough time off for the staff to obtain that balance.

    I worked at Kindred Healthcare

    Pros

Decent pay and learning new skills

    Cons

Management, staffing, low employee morale, punitive environment, high acuity patients, lots of favortism, and no raises

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please value your good employees, there are lots of them that work hard everyday and are very dedicated to providing good care. Stop staffing off of numbers and staff by patient acuity. There should never be cost on patient care.

    I worked at Kindred Healthcare

    Pros

Registered in NH to get your tuition back.
Residents really need help and most are sweet and appreciate you. Training nurse is amazing - LPNs & LNAa are great.

    Cons

    Understaffed
    Unfriendly HR n Corporate
    Low pay
Lack of corporate management leading to lack of care to residents - heartbreaking how bored they are due to understaffing and not receiving the emotional support and companionship they so desperately need because of unreasonable expectations put upon RNs LPNs & LNAs .
They only care about $$$ its a shame

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make it mandatory for EVERY suit to work a day per month on the floors to see what the residents REALLY need and how impossible to give quality care with the ridiculous time allotted to staff & equipment provided

    Close to home, self schedule.

    Cons

Health insurance is subpar to say the least. No 401k match. No REAL Benifits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You will NEVER get or keep and abundance of quality nurses with the lack of Benifits you currently offer.
