Former Employee – worked at King Soopers full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Good benefits, they are really, really good. Pretty much too good. The people you work with are a grab bag, but I made some lifelong connections here. There is upward mobility in the company for interested and qualified individuals. There used to be some decent perks, but they have been taken away.
Cons – Horrible hours, unrealistic expectaions. Every location I worked at is understaffed. The company is always trying to save money, and they do not staff their stores to make them comfortable for employees to handle the workload. There is simply never enough time to do everything. Upper management has no earthly idea what their employees go through on a daily basis, and it seems like they do not care either. Long term employees are surly, lazy and fight managment at every turn for no reason other than to fight them. I am ashamed at having done some of the things to employees that I did at the behest of upper management. It is really all about making shareholders more money; they say "customer first", but actually mean, "shareholders first". If you like working long hours with no tangible recognition to make already wealthy people even more money, then work for Kroger.
Advice to Senior Management – Burn the whole thing down and start over. Stop wasting money on unproven systems that trump the human element(QueVision). You have good people, so stop overlooking them. You really are overthinking the grocery business. Stop being wasteful in some areas (the deli, throwing away THAT much chicken is a problem) and too frugal in others. I will never even shop in your stores if I can help it.

Current Employee – been working at King Soopers part-time for more than a year
Pros – Nice co-workers, job availability is decent.
Cons – Hours based off of Seniority, Management is never on the same level, communication is very limited, Benefits are not so good. Not getting paid time and a half for holidays. Very bad at giving requested days off for family emergencies or vacations. Pay is below average. Rude costumers and above all management undermines your decisions when dealing with costumer returns or inquiries.
Advice to Senior Management – respect the fact that people have lives, emergencies happen that are unforeseen. be more forgiving to people that need some time off unexpectedly. Know your employees better, schedule accordingly.

Current Employee – been working at King Soopers part-time for more than 7 years
Pros – every once in a while you meet nice people and the pay after 6 years is good
Cons – the disrespect , the horrible bosses, and elderly ladies freaking out on you.
Advice to Senior Management – ya know everything would be better if they could just speak kindly to their people

Current Employee – been working at King Soopers
Pros – They are good at working with school, and rather decent at giving you certain days off if needed. But that depends on who your manager is, mine does good with that. My manager has always been pretty good at working with times that work for the employees.
Remember, this depends on the manager.
Cons – Horrible pay, you'll be in poverty unless you get into management or you stick it out in certain departments for a long long time, and it is very hard to become a full time employee, you will most likely have a schedule that is all over the place and alot of the time won't even get up to 30 hours.
The store I am at is very by the book, I am not sure if they all are but this one is all over every policy like god wrote it.
You never seem to be able to go fast enough for them, they always want more more more and it eventually begins to degrade in your moral.
Advice to Senior Management – King Soopers says they are big on diversity and utilising different skills to make a diverse working environment, those target goals are difficult to meet sometimes, load and backstock along with many other duties are ever changing and cannot always be the same. Not all employees will be the same all star that you want, and at the pay offered I am surprised most stick around as long as they do.

Current Employee – been working at King Soopers
Pros – easy mony, little work, the nice people are VERY nice and pleasing to be around, Direct Deposit, express human resources
Cons – rude people, ego-tistical managment, un-fair rules or polices, negativity, no compansation for stolen personal belongings, employer lowers reputation with other people
Advice to Senior Management – Let your employees grow, we're all people and just because you have red name badge, doesnt mean you control CC's and checkers. and remeber, your a supervisor, the service manager is our boss, we report to them, not you

Current Employee – been working at King Soopers
Pros – weekly pay, insurance, many great employees, meet wide variety of people, I am very lucky with my dept manager he is kind, considerate, fair and he is a working manager (many are not) usually able to get requsted days off, my particular pay is considered low campared to others but it certainly is not bad
Cons – it has become too corporate minded, store managers are more concerned about punishment. and following policies that are at times impossible to follow and sometimes are simply stupid. it is very difficult to provide outstanding customer service when your dept hours have been cut and you have to say the same lines over and over to people, like robots, but you do it because you dont want to get written up. That is not customer service, that is Walmart. and I hear that from customers almost daily and sadly not a thing is done about it. (at least not at my store)
Advice to Senior Management – allow your employees to be individual adults, most of us know how to treat people without the ANAGRAM of the week spelling out how many seconds we have to speak to someone and exactly what we are supposed to say. That is demeaning to the employees and the customers as well.

Former Employee – worked at King Soopers
Pros – You can make decent money
Cons – Your whole life revolves around the store. I worked hours that ranged from 3 am start time to 11 am start time. Days off were sparadic and I felt like I had no life besides working at King Soopers
Advice to Senior Management – I understand this is a retail job, but to attract the best people time off is important. Senority rules at King Soopers and there need to be a balance. I don't want to waste my youth working every weekend so that when I'm 50 I can get 1 weekend day off.
