I worked at Kitchen Collection full-time

    Pros

The management team was very helpful in making sure I was comfortable and prepared to operate as a store manager. They were very accessible and down to earth.

    Cons

The corporate office had poor communication at times. I also had to send paper work multiple times due to a lack of communication.

I worked at Kitchen Collection full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Very professional yet kind co-workers,regional management was very helpful whenever they could be, many occasions to be creative in sales and demos, flexible work schedule, a lot of new gadgets to keep the customers interest, health benefits were nice.

    Cons

No catalog books to show off merchandise which could have greatly increased sales and reach people who can not travel outdoors often, in need of newer and more proficient software and registers- had a lot of tech issues behind having old and very slow computers. More demos in smaller stores would increase sales and customer interest-not too often maybe 3 nice ones a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If alerted to an employee who is taking away from the pleasant atmosphere of the workplace and is hindering business because of their poor work ethics and bad disposition, please don't hold off on addressing the matter or allowing the manager to do so. Our store could have had done so much more business but this unfortunately was a hindrance.

    I worked at Kitchen Collection

    Pros

Very structured, diagrams and outlines galore, etc. Very easy to follow requirements and store expectations. Lots of different work schedules as well as they are flexible with school and family life. The managers receive lots of training. Customer service is high on their list which can also be a con if you don't prefer direct contact with customers.

    Cons

Long work days, early mornings on truck delivery days, inexperienced sales people, often young. There is also very little creativity options since the corporate headquarters require the stores to all look and perform the same.

    I worked at Kitchen Collection

    Pros

There was a decent discount (20%) with good sales. It was a fun place to work and the job wasn't too bad overall

    Cons

I worked there for approx 3.5 years and never really got a raise...except when minimum wage went up and when I got promoted

    I worked at Kitchen Collection

    Pros

It was definitely better than working at a big box store

    Cons

Being a small business means not much room for advancement and having to do the little things such as cleaning and unloading freight that you wouldn't do at a larger business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep empowering store managers
