    Pros

challenging work; exposure to management; endless opportunities across Koch companies; global presence, multiple industries; company reinvests 90% of earnings; privately held which results in longer term decision making; compensation structure is performance based

    Cons

work/life balance can be a challenge; no matter how much time you put in, it feels like it is never enough, which can be taxing after a while; company operates very lean

    Advice to Management

hire more people when necessary, as there is plenty of work to go around; when people are as overwhelmed as they are, work quality and job satisfaction suffers, not to mention work groups are in a bind if someone leaves; end up digging a grave that is nearly impossible to get out of/ahead

    Pros

Koch is an ever growing company that will allow you to grow with them. There are a variety of interesting jobs within Koch. Your level of success with Koch is steered through your ambition and desire to advance. You can go as far as you want to go with your career.

    Cons

The Koch "process" which drives all aspects in every area of Koch is a different entity of and in itself, and as such it may be difficult to integrate successfully. It is not easy nor simple to acclimate through total immersion in the company and may overwhelm a new employee. Depending on when you start with Koch there may or may not be training and or time for senior coworkers to assist you with assimilating into Koch.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful and fully aware of where a new hire's range of knowledge and skill sets are as they relate to their duties at Koch and not as it related to their past work experience or education. The Koch "process" IS overwhelming to even seasoned industry veterans. Also timing is everything and when a new hire is phased into their role at Koch can be the difference in success and failure to thrive.

    Pros

The companies core values are more than just words on paper, the employees wear it on the sleeves. The availability of training is quite good especially in the realm of Market Based Management (MBM). Good training for supervisors. This isn't a company that quibbles about $.02 on an business expense as long as you can show that it was a legitimate expense. Employee population heavily involved in giving back to the community.

    Cons

The pace can become "fast and furious" at times, maintaining focus, knowing what value you bring are important to keep in front of you.

    Advice to Management

    Stay the course!

    Pros

Great pay in this economy and the company continues to grow. Love what I do.

    Cons

Once you're in, you may not have the opportunity to move to other positions as easily as one may think. Current supervisor has to approve applying for other positions within company and if you do not have a good relationship with your supervisor, not good. Also, mgmt. looks at you differently when they hear you want out of a particular dept. Even when that dept may not be the right fit for you and you could excel in a diff position.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people. They are the ones dealing with internal & external customers and probably know more about what's going on than you may think.
