    I worked at Kohl's

    Pros

You learn to multitask. You learn infinite patience.

    Cons

Low pay . No chance to advance. Was told I was too fat to work in front of store. When I complained about a supervisor sexually harassing me I was told I had anger issues.

    I worked at Kohl's

    Pros

Was offered a Cashier position starting at a specific wage and hours. Was perfect. The people were nice and friendly and made me feel welcome! The store set up was easy to understand and so were the procedures. Training was super easy to follow. The managers seem to genuinely care about the employees

    Cons

The job I actually got on the other hand was Freight at 2 days a week and a $1.50 less than what I was told, with no set hours other than the 2 days a week. Even with that though they had no issue with my leaving they were super friendly about it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Kohl's

    Pros

A lot of working hours available during the holiday. Easy to obtain job.

    Cons

Management made false promises to seasonal employees regarding permanent position availability, which was confirmed by long term permanent associates. When I gave my notice, upper management became very unprofessional, and made negative personal comments.

    Pros

awesome managers & employees. Time off when needed.

    Cons

most hours I've had were 11 a week. Around Christmas it just to 28 or 30 if you're lucky. No promotions. You get a 10 cent raise once a year.

    Pros

Employee discounts and asscociate shop days!

    Cons

Part timers work nearly full time hours with no vacation pay.. but you can get 24 wellness hours... lots of turn around shifts with only 8 hours between shifts... expect to do more than your fair share as slackers are never repremanded.

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Jobs do not require any usage of common sense or a brain

    Cons

Supervisors and Store Management are severely lacking any business sense or general knowledge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As an employee for a little over 2 years, I would suggest listening and responding to employees as human beings and not as a warm body just there to take up space. If an individual asks a question or makes a suggestion, don't just respond to get them out of your hair, do something about it. If you don't have an answer, get them one. Thoughtless jobs and "Supervisors" that think they have the right to demand work of you and refuse to release an employee after their shift is complete is absolutely insane. Individuals such as these are useless and are not of any value to the company or the position they hold. I am 30+ years of age and hold a full time job as well. I witnessed the treatment my co-workers received and also endured countless attitudes and scoldings from department supervisors regarding petty store politics. I will not tolerate or be refused to clock out at the end of my shift especially when I have volunteered to work later and need to leave at a certain time nor will I be demanded to do a job that is not my own in addition to the job I was hired to do. Playing favorites is also not smart management. Too much drama to continue working there as I have long graduated from high school and surpassed the mental capabilities of superiors.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Seasonal hours
    Discount days
    Nice coworkers
    Nothing
    Else
    Nice
    To
    Say

    Cons

The E3's (managers) are extremely rude.
    The store is always trashed
    Dirty rest rooms
They work you to burn out
    No respect
They don't tell you they're letting you go,you just suddenly have 0 hours.
    No communication
No training. They just expect you to know what to do.
They secretly watch employees on camera.
No advancement, no cares about how hard working you are.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show some respect to your employees. Up wages. Let them know when they are doing well.
Don't hire rude managers that make rude remarks and are extremely snobby. They need compassion and character.
Your music selection is awful. shouldn't be allowing such volger lyrics in a "family atmosphere "
    I won't be going back.

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I liked a lot of the people I worked with, particularly those that worked the floor. This was a second job for me, so I appreciated the flexibility.

    Cons

I felt really terribly for those that relied on this job as their sole source of income. Like most retail jobs, the pay was low, the hours changed weekly and were rarely more than 30 hours a week. The store was constantly understaffed (intentionally is my guess) and so you would spend and entire shift running around trying to keep up with the tidal wave of items in the fitting room, multiple displays that needed to be folded, and helping customers. It was mindless, demoralizing work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know the current retail model is pay low as there will always be more young people willing to work for the wages, but you have so many good people that leave or become disillusioned because they cannot earn a livable wage. If you way you want happy employees that are engaged with their work, then make it worth their time.
