    Pros

Good pay, decent bennies. A branch of Kohler Company that seems to be managed indepedently and goes by the name SAUK TECHNOLOGIES or SAUKTECH.

    Cons

Unfriendly environment, finger pointing, management seems confused and has no concern for employees, little or no adherance to safety practices. Other employees will openly blame their mistakes on others if they think they can get away with it. An environment where the employees "just don't care". More concerned about speed and numbers than quality.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to become less confused and more aware of what if happening on the floor rather than just the numbers of product that can be produced. They have no "open door" policy for concerns and the only time a supervisor will speak to an employee is to ask why things aren't going faster or to fire him.

Beautiful location, top top management are great people.

    Cons

Negativity and poor comradre contribute to poor working conditions. My manager was a good person, but a bad manager. So much that he became a bad person. Not a fun place to be.

    Pros

Kohler Co. has beautiful quality products and the company is very innovative. They give back to the communities that they operate in. It is a good place for interns and people just getting out of college to get a solid bullet on the resume'.

    Cons

Management has changed dramatically over the last 5 - 10 years and employees are not valued. People are promoted to manager if they score high on an intelligence test regardless of whether they have management skills, people skills etc. I am aware of several instances where "questionable" write-ups have been done against "star" performers and when those individuals have asked for specifics, HR has refused to provide any details. I have known of one manager who promoted an associate only to put them on a performance plan after the associate shared concerns about morale in the department, within weeks they were no longer qualified to do the job they had been doing for 4 years. I worked at Kohler for 18 successful years before being recruited to another company with more career potential. I had been given exemplary reviews, good merit increases, was a "star" performer and was put through leadership training. When I gave my notice I was walked out the door. If you stay at Kohler, don't ever believe that they care about you as a person, or about your career. Recently it appears as though associates with a long history of employment there are being pushed out, maybe they make too much money and it would be cheaper to replace them with college graduates, I can't say, but it doesn't feel right.

    Advice to Management

Value your associates, value the experience that your associates have gained from their employment with Kohler. It does say something about a company when you have people who spend their entire career with you. When droves of high potential employees leave, it's time to evaluate what is going on higher up.

    Pros

benefits and rate of pay are ok

    Cons

You don't work to live, you live to work for Kohler. That's how they treat their employees at the Huntsville,Al plant. As an employee for over 10+ yrs enough was enough, it was time to go. In my time there I witnessed sexual harassment, gender discrimination, race discrimination and just plan job harassment go unpunished. The bad thing is 3 of the 4 were done mainly by management at the plant. I myself was victim to all this along with 90% of the molding staff on all shifts. You can't complain about it or report it because if you do they make your life a living hell and look for any reason to write you up to fire you. In my time there I had death threats made to kill me and my son by another coworker, I had an area supervisor harass and call me names and threaten my job because i got hurt on the job and had to have surgery. Nothing was ever done about the death threats the just told me i was over reacting, now that person is in jail because of trying to kill someone. I had to get a lawyer to help get HR to advise the area supervisor to back off because he had me in tears everyday I was there will i was injured. The things that go on in that plant are unbelievable.

    Advice to Management

Clean house....the plant management and front office staff in some major changes or major training on how to talk to and treat the people out on the mold and in the warehouse. Moral out there is at an all time low

    Pros

Fair benefits, which is pretty much it

    Cons

Other than benefits, this is the worst working environment that I've seen in 25 years. Imperialistic, political, internally focused organization. Zero work life balance that pays below average wage scale.

    Advice to Management

None, as management only cares what Kohler's thinks

    Pros

The pay was good, and the benefits were pretty good as well. There is always some form of training taking place and there appears, within some divisions, to be some commitment to, or reinvestment in, employees.

    Cons

A soul-crushing, morale-killing wasteful behemoth of corporate bureaucracy and nepotism; A culture where everyone works in fear of chairman Herbert V Kohler, and in so doing refuse to challenge old ideas,or embrace new ones, and where employee trust and empowerment is checked at the door when you join the company, regardless of what you are disingenuously promised by their HR staff.

    Advice to Management

The dysfunction and hubris within this organization is so entrenched, there is really nothing that one can say or do to address it. It's astounding a company so old and so large functions the way that it does.

    Pros

beautiful furniture, nice location. high end clients.

    Cons

very scared management. I had over 9 interviews with them. everytime they would say by end of the week they will make up their minds. The next week, I would get another call and yet another interview with another manager. Total of 9 interviews and two personality tests. I was told that my exam numbers were through the roof . I was told that everyone in the chain of management loved talking to me. Then came the last person. A manager by the name of joe. Combative and rude in nature. The interview went from cordial to plain rude. he was trying hard to find problems within the resume and corner me in an unconfortable way. I had been told there are several well qualified candidates beside me, yet two weeks later, they still have the employment add on again.
My take. the retail store is very close to the showroom at PDC location and does not make their quotas. Clients going to both locations and sales people fighting over the rights of who owns the sale. I know within the last 6 months, they have brand new staff including managers. They still work their comuters through DOS system. This is 2014 come on people.
All indications are that the venture is not working out for them and the company may close that location. I might add, among all the managers I had interviewed with such as Regina, Kirck , Ursila ( yes you will get to know them all if you decide to apply, some times 3 interviews in a row) they were all class act professional except the last, joe guy. I think he is young and green in what he was doing. He will learn more as time goes by. At the end, I contacted the area manager and asked that my name to be taken off their list since they still were not able to make a decision.
    How they work:
they offer 5% commission. in order to make a 60K anual salary, you have to sale at least 1.2 Million yearly.( about 100K a month . NO WAY FROM THAT OCATION IS THAT POSSIBLE) they require you both being on the showroom floor and go out and bring clients in. ( how that is physically possible, I do not know.) you get paid AFTER the merchandise is delivered and they get paid from the client. Being that all their furniture is custom and they usually have 3-4 months delivery time on them. you will not see your commission on that sale for minimum 6 months time.

    Pros

Some great coworkers who worked hard

    Cons

It's as if the business is left to die a slow agonizing death with a lack of capital being put back into the business in any effort to compete. The position included some all encompassing store responsibilities and impromptu delivery expectations that are virtually unheard of in a position bearing the the job title comparatively to any other business of this type.

    Advice to Management

The rules are so many that they become constraining to effectively to the job

The money is good, but no pay raise for 3 yrs. I like some of the lower management, I enjoy loading trucks with a fork lift.

    Cons

They treat us like dirt, force us to work 6 12 hour days a week, upper management doe's not care or treat us with respect.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the warehouse supervisor, start treating us better.
