    I worked at Kona Grill

    Pros

Training was proficient and prepared suffeciantly for the job at hand.
Lots of money to be made in tips as most locations are near malls.

    Cons

Long hours sometimes. Can be difficult to request time off.
    Management is hit or miss.
Won't let you go into overtime

I have been working at Kona Grill part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The majority of my coworkers are cool and easy to get along with. The managers are professional when resolving issues and try to keep their employee's best interests in mind. They will not hesitate to help you out if you get too busy or are dealing with a difficult guest.

    Cons

The clientele can be terrible sometimes, but you'll get that in any restaurant. Managers will call people off if they are on overtime, even if it leaves us understaffed. It can get extremely busy and stressful on some nights, so if you can't multitask well or work as a team then this may not be the job for you.

I have been working at Kona Grill full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

There is little stress other than peak hours, little micromanagement due to nature of sushi.

    Cons

Basically no upward movement available for any position unless you are there for decades.

I worked at Kona Grill full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great focus on quality. Small enough to adapt quickly to a fluid market with the structure and stability of a corporation. Smart people running the organization.

    Cons

Limited growth potential beyond GM at this point. Benefits outside of bonus are limited by the size of the company.

I have been working at Kona Grill

    Pros

Definitely a fun place to work, money is good, and employees actually care about each other and their jobs. A much better restaurant environment to work in then others in area.

    Cons

Some shifts while working on patio can be very hectic and if you only have experience with three table sections you would not do well here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Being a little more lenient on company policies and not being as strict when you yourself are engaging in some of these.

    Recommends
    No opinion of CEO
