Poor pay, little concern and no support for the regular employee

Applications Developer (Current Employee) Herndon, VA

    ProsReally can't think of any

ConsNot competitive wages. Little if any employee support from management. I worked at a remote location (not a Kratos facility) but was only a few miles from the regional Kratos headquarters. The manager responsible for the contract I was on never contacted me via email and only visited the site once or twice per year.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Strong company with room to grow and improve on an already solid foundation.

Account Manager (Current Employee) Newport, DE

ProsLarge company with a wide reach of territory and products. Solid leadership in many areas.

ConsFor those who do not enjoy the corporate style of business, Kratos may not be the best fit. As the company continues to grow, leadership has done a lot to standardize processes across the board, and there is much more of a large corporation feel than a small business.

Overall positive learning experience, but unfortunately, things have gotten worse with the economy

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsGreat professional development experiences. Lots of growth opportunities where I was at. Had good mentors and coaches during the growth years.

ConsLots of layoffs recently. Leadership of business unit has gone downhill because of key leaders no longer with company. Too many acquisitions coupled with the competitive, low-bid wins contract environment, has made company growth stagnant.

    Financial Analyst (Current Employee)

ProsSolid management, good pay, great mix of people and personalities, expanding company, flexible hours.

ConsHard to move up because of the size of company, not enough Business Development to win new contracts

More Interested In Acquisitions than compensation or training for Front-Line Employees!

Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee) Washington, DC

ProsGreat front-line worker camaraderie and the ESOP is very competitive!

ConsCompared to other Defense Contractors such as SAIC, CACI the pay is very uncompetitive and it's obvious middle management has been mandated to cut training and compensation in order to go on a acquisition spree. The pay in the D.C. area is around 20% lower than what similar firms pay. On my exit interview the Govt. side wants to know why turn-over is so high and I intend on telling them why! Since turn-over is so high, Ive been told their probably going to lose this Govt. Contract when it comes up for renewal. Greed will cost you in the long run!

Advice to Senior ManagementYour Acquisition spree in lieu of taking care of your front-line workers will eventually come back to bite you! Trust me, I'm hearing the Govt. is getting tired of you sparing resources on your employees while purchasing assets which reflects your core values.

Certain people can perform poorly or fall short of completing anything and nothing is said.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsThe company has good benefits, holidays and most of the employees care about what we do. The GM has a good attitude and I believe that he tries to promote a good environment to work in and encourage us to sell, install and service a good product while being profitable.

ConsTrying to do the best job possible and getting the same recognition as the people who don't do the job very well. What would make someone want to excel if you are treated the same as the people who don't complete or even care about the end product (or know how to do the job right).

Advice to Senior ManagementHold people accountable, let them know what is expected of them. If they don't know, then teach them. If they still can't do it then put them in a position that better suits them. If there isn't a better place for them them maybe they need to find a new career. Some people have NO supervision or accountability at all(very few) They come and go as they please and no one knows where they are or what they are doing.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
